University of Economics Enhances Organizational Structure, Improves Governance Efficiency

On August 28, 2026, the University of Economics, University of Danang, held a conference regarding implementation of decisions on organizational restructuring and personnel appointments, in line with the policy to further streamline the organization and enhance operational efficiency.

The conference was attended by Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan, Vice President of the University of Danang. From the University of Economics, attendees included Prof. Dr. Le Van Huy, Party Secretary and Rector; Prof. Dr. Vo Xuan Tien, former Party Secretary and former Rector; Prof. Dr. Truong Ba Thanh, former Vice President of the University of Danang, former Party Secretary and former Rector; Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh, former Party Secretary and former Chairwoman of the University Council; Dr. Huynh Thi Hong Hanh, Vice Rector and Chairwoman of the University Trade Union; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh, Vice Rector; along with heads and deputy heads of the university's departments.

According to reports at the conference, the restructuring was carried out following Official Letter No. 2883/UDN-TCCB dated July 21, 2026, from the President of the University of Danang, aiming to reduce intermediary levels, strengthen inter-unit linkages, and improve operational effectiveness.

Regarding the reorganization of faculties and institutes:

- The Faculty of Finance - Banking was established through the merger of the Faculty of Finance and the Faculty of Banking.

- The Faculty of Tourism and International Business was established by merging the Faculty of Tourism and the Faculty of International Business.

- The Faculty of E-commerce - Marketing and Digital Technology was established by merging the Faculty of E-commerce, the Faculty of Marketing, and the Department of Management Information Systems (previously under the Faculty of Statistics - Informatics).

- The Department of Statistics (Faculty of Statistics - Informatics) was merged into the Faculty of Economics.

- The Institute of International Training was established by merging the Center for International Training and the Department of Specialized Foreign Languages.

Regarding the reorganization of offices, centers, and journals:

- The Office of Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance was established by merging the Office of Academic Affairs and the Office of Quality Management.

- The Economics Science Journal was merged into the Office of Science and International Cooperation.

- The Office of Student Affairs, Business Relations, and Communications was renamed the Office of Student Affairs.

- The Digital Center and Learning Resources was renamed the Center for Information Technology and Digital Learning Resources.

- The Party and Union Working Group was established under the University of Economics.

Addressing the conference, Prof. Dr. Le Van Huy, Party Secretary and Rector of the University of Economics, called on all units to promptly stabilize their organizations, strengthen unity, innovate management mindsets and working methods, and enhance initiative and responsibility. He outlined the following key tasks:

- First, promptly stabilize the organization, build unity, and create consensus within each unit.

- Second, strongly innovate management thinking and working methods.

- Third, promote initiative, creativity, and a spirit of responsibility.

- Fourth, for faculties, special attention should be paid to improving training quality, scientific research, and staff development.

- Fifth, for functional offices, a shift towards management and service mindsets should continue.

Representing the newly reorganized units, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Anh stated: “With the responsibilities entrusted to us, we are committed to always prioritizing the collective interests of the university. We will strive to build unity, consensus, and trust in each faculty and office, valuing the differences in tradition, people, and strengths of the previous units to create a new, unified body without losing unique values".

At the conference, the University of Economics expressed gratitude to managers who will not continue in their positions after the restructuring, recognizing their responsibility, consensus, and contributions to the university’s development.
