Workshop on ERP Odoo Application Drives Digital Transformation in Education
20/07/2026
As digital transformation and international integration increasingly demand innovation in higher education, the adoption of enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms in teaching has become a growing trend at universities worldwide. To enhance the practical relevance of academic modules, the University of Economics, in collaboration with Odoo HK Limited, organized a workshop titled “Deployment and Free Support for Using the Odoo ERP System for Training Purposes” on July 20 and 21, 2026. The event was attended by Mr. Tony To Ton Thanh, Odoo Education Program Manager in Vietnam, along with representatives from relevant departments and a large number of faculty and staff from various faculties and departments.
During the workshop, participants were introduced to an overview of the Odoo Education Program and had hands-on experience with Odoo ERP’s core modules such as Purchase & Inventory, CRM & Sales, Website & E-Commerce, Point of Sale (PoS), Manufacturing & Shop Floor, Accounting, and Human Resources, as well as implementation strategies for teaching activities. In addition, presenters shared methods for developing practical case studies, designing course modules, and leveraging simulated enterprise databases to enhance the student learning experience.
Speaker Tony To Ton Thanh presents at the Workshop
Odoo is one of the world’s leading integrated ERP platforms, enabling synchronized management of business activities such as sales, procurement, accounting, warehouse management, human resources, manufacturing, e-commerce, and customer relationship management within a single system. In education, the Odoo Education Program provides free access to a learning environment, databases, and supporting tools for faculty to develop simulated enterprise scenarios, enabling students to learn through a "learning by doing" approach and bridging the gap between theory and practice.
The integration of Odoo ERP into academic programs not only innovates teaching methods but also familiarizes students with digital enterprise operations, encourages interdisciplinary management thinking, and enhances adaptability to labor market requirements. This approach is increasingly adopted by universities globally to strengthen students’ practical abilities and digital skills.
Through the workshop, faculty and staff at the University of Economics gained opportunities to update their knowledge, exchange experiences, and gradually build ERP-based teaching modules. The event reinforced the university’s commitment to promoting digital transformation, expanding collaboration with technology enterprises, and continuously improving the quality of practice-oriented education to meet the demands for high-quality human resources in the digital era.
