ICOAF 2026 Conference: Fostering International Academic Connections, Developing Solutions for Da Nang International Financial Centre

On July 10-11, 2026, the University of Economics - the University of Danang, in collaboration with international partners, hosted the 11th International Conference on Accounting and Finance (ICOAF 2026), bringing together scholars, experts, administrators, business representatives, and professional organizations from multiple countries worldwide.

Delivering the opening speech, Ho Ky Minh, Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, said that as Da Nang pursues its vision to become an international financial centre, a hub for innovation, high technology, digital economy, and high-quality services in Vietnam and the region, the research, initiatives, and international experiences shared at the conference will serve as crucial references, supporting the city in policy development, financial market growth, and training high-quality human resources.

Building on the success of the previous ten conferences, ICOAF 2026 was co-organized by the University of Economics - the University of Danang alongside the University of New South Wales (Australia), Massey University (New Zealand), Southeastern Louisiana University (USA), Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (Malaysia), Duta Wacana Christian University (Indonesia), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA, UK), and the University of Parma (Italy). The conference remains a prestigious academic forum in the fields of accounting, finance, and banking, and expands research cooperation among domestic and international institutions.

At the plenary session, Professor Sumit Agarwal (National University of Singapore) and Professor Andrea Cilloni (University of Parma, Italy) delivered presentations on new trends in finance and governance.

A highlight of the conference was the roundtable discussion on the development orientation for the Da Nang International Financial Centre. Experts, administrators, and representatives of financial organizations shared extensive international experience on digital finance, green finance, risk management, operational mechanisms for international financial centres, as well as policies to attract investment and develop human resources. These exchanges provided further scientific and practical grounds to support the development of Da Nang International Financial Centre in the near future.

According to the organizers, ICOAF 2026 featured 58 presentations across eight thematic sessions, covering: accounting standards, financial reporting quality and disclosure practices; auditing, assurance services, internal control, and corporate governance; corporate finance, investment decisions, business valuation, and capital structure; asset valuation, microstructure of financial markets, derivatives, and risk management; banking systems, financial stability, and regulatory frameworks.

Through ICOAF 2026, the University of Economics - the University of Danang continues to affirm its role as an international academic connector in economics, management, and finance. The conference not only provided a platform for knowledge exchange among scholars and experts, but also opened up new opportunities for research collaboration, knowledge transfer, and partnerships between academia and business, contributing to innovation, economic-financial development, and international integration of Da Nang city.
