University of Economics consolidates leadership, harnesses internal strengths, targets new development goals

On the morning of June 17, 2026, the University of Danang held a formal ceremony to announce the appointment decisions for new leaders at the University of Economics – University of Danang.

According to the decision issued by the Director of the University of Danang, Professor Dr. Le Van Huy has been appointed as Rector of the University of Economics – University of Danang. At the same time, the Party Committee of the University of Danang is implementing the policy of unifying the positions of Party Secretary and Rector, in line with Resolution No. 71 of the Politburo.

In addition, the Director of the University of Danang also delivered appointment decisions to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh and Dr. Huynh Thi Hong Hanh, who will serve as Vice Rectors of the university.

At the ceremony, the University of Danang also paid tribute to Professor Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh - former Party Secretary and former Chairwoman of the University Council of the University of Economics - for her significant contributions during her tenure in management. With a strong sense of responsibility and capable leadership, Professor Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh played a key role in advancing the development of the University of Economics as well as the University of Danang in education, scientific research, international cooperation, and university governance.

The consolidation of the executive board takes place as the University of Economics continues to implement a research-oriented development strategy, steadily affirming its position in the region and nationwide. Over more than half a century of establishment and growth, the university has become one of the leading institutions in training, research, consulting, and knowledge transfer in the Central and Central Highlands regions.

Currently, the University of Economics has more than 400 staff and lecturers working in eight functional offices, twelve faculties, a specialized foreign languages division, a library, and five affiliated centers. Over 80% of the faculty have been trained and developed at prestigious universities worldwide. The university offers 18 undergraduate majors, seven master's programs, and four doctoral programs, supplying high-quality human resources for the Central, Central Highlands, and the entire country.

In terms of quality assurance, many training programs have achieved AUN-QA international accreditation standards. The university also maintains partnerships with leading professional organizations such as CPA Australia and ACCA to enhance students’ practical skills, research capabilities, and international integration. A network of over 60 international partners and joint training programs with universities in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand continue to expand opportunities for study, research, and academic exchange for both faculty and students.

Building on achievements cultivated over generations and a newly consolidated leadership team, the University of Economics is expected to further strengthen its role as a leading center for education, research, and policy consultancy, making effective contributions to the socio-economic development of the Central and Central Highlands regions and the country, aiming to become an internationally accredited higher education institution in the coming period.
