Eight Faculty Members from University of Economics Honored by Da Nang City People’s Committee for Achievements in Science, Technology, and Innovation

On May 14, 2026, the Da Nang City People’s Committee held a ceremony to commend organizations and individuals with outstanding achievements in science, technology, and innovative startups, acknowledging their significant contributions to the city’s innovation ecosystem.
In this round of commendations, eight faculty members from the University of Economics - University of Danang were recognized for their exceptional scientific research accomplishments and numerous international publications in reputable scientific journals, including:
- Professor Dr. Le Van Huy - Rector
- Associate Professor Dr. Dang Huu Man – Head of Academic Affairs
- Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Huu Cuong – Deputy Head of the Faculty of Accounting
- Dr. Tran Nien Tuan - Deputy Head of the Office of Organization and Administration
- Dr. Tran Trieu Khai - Lecturer, Faculty of Marketing
- Dr. Ho Thi Hai Ly - Lecturer, Faculty of Banking
- Dr. Do Khac Trung - Lecturer, Faculty of Finance
- Dr. Nguyen Thi Xuan Linh - Lecturer, Faculty of Accounting
The recognition of numerous faculty members by the city’s authorities further affirms the University of Economics’ faculty’s research capacity and position in the context of higher education’s increasing alignment with innovation, knowledge transfer, and international integration.
University of Economics faculty receiving awards
In recent years, the University of Economics - University of Danang has advanced its scientific research strategy by enhancing the quality of international publications, promoting strong research groups, and increasing academic collaborations both domestically and internationally. The university has also focused on building a dynamic academic environment, encouraging faculty to participate in applied research, foster innovation, and connect with businesses and localities.
In 2025, the Department of Science and Technology received a total of 329 applications for commendation, including two patents, eight utility solutions granted protection certificates, and 319 scientific articles published in international journals. Based on this, the Department of Science and Technology organized appraisal, convened a scientific advisory council, and selected eligible applications to submit to the Chairman of the City People’s Committee for consideration and decision on rewards for authors of scientific and technological works; patents, utility solutions; scientific articles published in reputable international journals; and organizations and individuals with outstanding achievements in innovative startups.
At this year’s awards ceremony, authors and groups of authors of one patent, three utility solutions with protection certificates, and 61 scientific articles published in reputable scientific journals were presented with Certificates of Merit by the Chairman of the City People’s Committee, with a total prize value exceeding VND 215 million. These scientists and research groups have made significant practical contributions in scientific research, technology application, and elevating Da Nang’s position on the national and international innovation map.
