Workshop “Digital Finance and Vietnam’s IFC Aspiration: The Role of the New Economic Generation”

On March 24, 2026, University of Economics - The University of Danang, in collaboration with the Vietnam Blockchain and Digital Assets Association (VBA) and the ABAII Institute of Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence, organized a workshop titled “Digital Finance and Vietnam’s IFC Aspiration: The Role of the New Economic Generation,” attracting a large number of students.

The program is part of the ABAII Unitour 2025 series implemented at universities nationwide, aiming to provide practical insights into the digital finance ecosystem, crypto assets, and fintech development trends in the context of Vietnam’s accelerating digital transformation.


At the workshop, experts focused on analyzing the legal framework and operational practices of the digital asset market. Mr. Nghiem Minh Hoang, Senior Strategy Expert at 1Matrix Company, presented on “The Legal Landscape of Crypto Assets,” emphasizing the role of regulatory sandboxes, as well as standards for customer identification and anti-money laundering in line with international practices.

From an ecosystem perspective, Mr. Tran Huyen Dinh, Head of the Fintech Application Committee of VBA, analyzed the role of fintech and blockchain in the structure of an International Financial Center (IFC), while also highlighting new opportunities for young talent as digital finance models are gradually legalized and piloted in Vietnam.

A highlight of the program was the panel discussion titled “Fintech and the Digital Finance Ecosystem: Where Do Students Stand in the Transformation Flow?”, where speakers shared insights on:

- The rapidly changing digital finance market and the need for continuous updates in skills and mindset.

- The growing demand from enterprises for talent with combined expertise in finance and technology, along with risk management linked to data and digital compliance.

- Stablecoins and tokenization opening up cross-border working environments and limitless opportunities beyond domestic boundaries.

- Personal strategies for students: building data capabilities, understanding digital financial structures, and developing problem-solving thinking.

- Career opportunities and pathways within the Da Nang IFC ecosystem.

From a learner’s perspective, students are encouraged to proactively build interdisciplinary competencies, enhance their understanding of digital financial structures, and develop problem-solving skills to adapt to the evolving work environment. Experts and business representatives directly addressed students’ questions and offered recommendations on essential skills in the new context.

The workshop not only delivered in-depth knowledge but also contributed to career orientation, helping DUE students clearly identify their position and opportunities within the emerging digital finance ecosystem, especially as Da Nang aims to become an international financial center in the future.
