Phan Thao Nhi, a student of Class 49K30.1 majoring in Business Administration with a specialization in Digital Business, has recently been awarded a scholarship worth AUD 10,000 from Monash University (Australia), marking the next milestone in her international academic journey. Prior to this, Thao Nhi was enrolled in Class 49KQT – the international standard program at DUE, following a 2+2 pathway (two years in Vietnam and two years abroad), with Australia as her chosen destination.
A Scholarship Earned Through Serious Preparation
Sharing her feelings upon receiving the scholarship offer, Thao Nhi described it as both a great joy and a strong motivation to continue striving in the next stage of her studies.
According to Nhi, to secure a transfer scholarship from Monash University, students are required to meet two key criteria: a strong GPA and an IELTS score of 6.5 or above. However, academic results alone are only part of the story. A well-prepared application that clearly demonstrates defined academic goals, along with a serious and committed attitude toward learning, are also crucial factors in convincing the selection panel.
“There is no special secret just persistence and proactiveness”, Nhi shared. Throughout her studies, she maintained the habit of thoroughly reading course materials to grasp core knowledge, while also expanding her understanding through external resources. In an English-medium learning environment, she also leveraged AI tools such as NotebookLM to summarize materials and clarify complex academic concepts while always adhering to one principle: “Not copying mechanically, but using AI as a tool to better understand the lessons".
Monash University - A Well-Suited Choice
For Thao Nhi, Monash University stands out not only for its academic reputation frequently ranked among the world’s Top 50 - 100 universities but also for its comprehensive student support ecosystem. At Monash, she will continue her studies in Digital Business, a field focusing on digital transformation in business, e-commerce, and data-driven innovation to develop new business models in the digital era. From Monash Connect and legal advisory services to emergency support, as well as academic and life skills workshops, the university offers an ideal environment for international students to quickly adapt and thrive.
Currently, Thao Nhi has arrived in Australia, beginning to familiarize herself with a new lifestyle, explore her academic program, and gradually integrate into the university’s international student community.
DUE - A Launchpad to the World
Reflecting on her time at DUE, Thao Nhi believes that her university years provided far more than just academic knowledge. Self-learning ability, research skills, time management, and the capacity to present ideas clearly and logically these were the essential competencies that enabled her to confidently complete her study abroad application and impress the international scholarship panel.
The proactive mindset and global aspirations of today’s DUE students are built upon a solid academic foundation at the University of Economics. From there, global opportunities are opening wide-ready to welcome those who are prepared to take initiative, step forward, and believe in themselves.
