University of Economics solemnly holds the Ceremony to Celebrate the 43rd Anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day

On the morning of November 20, 2025, in a joyful atmosphere as the whole country turned toward Vietnamese Teachers’ Day, University of Economics - The University of Danang (DUE) solemnly organized the Ceremony commemorating the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (20/11/1982 - 20/11/2025). The event was an occasion to express gratitude to generations of teachers and to recognize and honor the outstanding contributions of collectives and individuals during the 2024 -2025 academic year.
The 2024 - 2025 academic year marked many significant milestones for the University of Economics. Faculty development and capacity building have always been considered one of the school’s top priorities in its development strategy. The university has completed restructuring its leadership and management apparatus. Over the past year, DUE proudly had an additional 3 lecturers appointed as Associate Professors, 2 lecturers recognized as meeting the standards for Professor title, and 4 lecturers recognized as meeting the standards for Associate Professor title; 1 lecturer was awarded the title of “Emulation Fighter at Ministerial Level”.
Admissions continued to affirm the university’s reputation, with 100% of regular undergraduate quotas filled and admission benchmark scores remaining high. Throughout the year, the university continuously innovated and diversified training formats to meet the demand for high-quality human resources for the socio-economic development of Da Nang city, especially to serve the International Financial Center and the Free Trade Zone. Notably, DUE successfully launched one more full English-taught program (E-commerce major), contributing to deeper integration into the international education environment and enhancing students’ foreign language proficiency and global mindset. In addition, the university developed 16 additional semi-English programs across various fields of economics, business, and management, enabling students to acquire modern professional knowledge while improving their specialized English skills.
To continuously improve training quality, the university focused on implementation and achieved many commendable results. In the past academic year, DUE conducted self-assessment for 2 undergraduate programs (cycle II) and 6 master’s programs, laying an important foundation for the accreditation of other training programs in the coming period.
Scientific research, international cooperation, enterprise relations, and startup/innovation activities continued to see breakthrough developments. The university recorded 340 scientific publications, including 82 articles indexed in Web of Science/Scopus databases. The Journal of Economic Sciences is published regularly and by July 2025 reached 1.00 point according to the evaluation of the State Council for Professor Title. The university awarded nearly VND 27 billion in scholarships to more than 2,300 students; enterprises were mobilized to support and award more than VND 2.14 billion in scholarships to students with difficult circumstances but excellent academic performance.
Fifty years is a long journey; the university’s staff and faculty have together built a school that we all cherish and take pride in. In the future, the University of Economics - University of Danang will continue to innovate and develop, striving to become one of the leading universities in the region and internationally.

In his speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Huy affirmed the important role of the teaching staff in the context of digital transformation and global knowledge; reviewed many outstanding achievements of the university in training, scientific research, and international cooperation; and expressed deep gratitude for the immense contributions of former faculty members and previous generations of teachers who laid the foundation and devotedly nurtured the growth of this institution. On this occasion, the university also emphasized its strategic directions for the new period, aiming to become an innovative, sustainable, and globally integrated university.

Prior to the event, the University of Economics held a solemn meeting with retired former faculty members – those who overcame numerous difficulties to lay the first bricks in building the university into one of Vietnam’s prestigious research universities, actively contributing to the ASEAN community and global knowledge. On this 20/11 occasion, faculties within the university also organized various commemorative activities and vibrant cultural and artistic events to bring teachers and students closer together in this meaningful celebration.
