Kick-off of Startup Runway 2025: Ideas Ready to Take Off

On the morning of March 7, the Kick-off Ceremony of Startup Runway 2025 took place at the University of Economics - UD. In 2025, amidst the implementation of Resolution 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, Startup Runway 2025 is being organized with many new improvements. For the first time, the competition is co-organized by the University of Economics - UD, the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang City, the Da Nang Youth Union, the Da Nang Young Entrepreneurs Association, and the Da Nang Business Incubator, creating the largest startup support ecosystem ever.
In her opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh, Chairwoman of the University Council of the University of Economics, affirmed: "This year, Startup Runway is not only a platform to seek innovative ideas but also a foundation for training and practicing entrepreneurship. We aim to equip students with not only specialized knowledge but also an entrepreneurial mindset, the ability to apply technology in business, and the skills to develop sustainable business models".

Startup Runway 2025 marks the beginning of a series of startup and innovation support activities launched by the University of Economics. Alongside the competition, the university will organize an Innovative Startup training course for high school teachers in March 2025. Additionally, various training programs and initiatives connecting businesses with the startup community will be implemented to enhance awareness and skills for those interested in the startup ecosystem.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuc, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang City, highly appreciated the contributions of the University of Economics - UD in scientific research and innovative entrepreneurship, as well as the effectiveness and widespread impact of the Startup Runway competition. She expressed confidence that in the coming time, the university’s scientific research and startup activities would continue to develop, leading to the formation of more startup projects and enterprises that contribute to the city's economic and social development.

Since its launch in 2016, Startup Runway - the annual competition organized by the University of Economics - UD - has become one of the most prominent platforms for students passionate about entrepreneurship. The competition not only fosters the startup spirit but also creates a networking environment connecting businesses, organizations, and associations to support the realization of innovative startup ideas. Over the past seasons, many startup projects have emerged, bringing practical value to the community and society.
