Inspiring with Former DUE_ers (Part 1): “Nurturing the Glorious Tradition and Contributing to the Overall Development of DUE”

Creating and bringing distinctive values to society is the ideal pursued by many generations of alumni from the University of Economics, the University of Danang (DUE). Among DUE graduates, each has taken on different roles and careers-some have become leaders, scientists, and many have achieved great success as entrepreneurs. The alumni of the University of Economics, UD, have been pioneers in applying the knowledge gained from their alma mater to build businesses, shape and develop brands, and contribute to the national socio-economic landscape. One such example is Nguyen Xuan Hoang, an alumnus from class 42K17, majoring in Human Resource Management under the Faculty of Business Administration.

Nguyen Xuan Hoang - A Successful DUE Alumnus

Holding the position of Director at Abogo Tourism Group Joint Stock Company (website: https://abogo.com/) and serving as a training expert for courses on OTA (Online Travel Agent) platforms, Xuan Hoang has spent the past seven years working directly with more than 100 renowned resorts and various enterprises, both large and small, providing consultancy and support to help them find the right direction in online hotel sales. Most of Xuan Hoang’s clients express high satisfaction as he has helped them secure a firm standing in the national market, bringing in significant profits after working with his company.

"Everything I have today is the result of accumulated knowledge and learning from the past," Xuan Hoang reflected. "During my time at university, alongside studying, I took on numerous jobs and gained a great deal of practical experience". He shared, "If I had to choose again, I would still choose the University of Economics. The university provided me with opportunities to study in an excellent environment, fostering comprehensive student development in both specialized knowledge and soft skills. Most importantly, the lecturers at DUE are dedicated and highly qualified-not only well-trained in their fields but also empathetic and always ready to support and guide students. This has helped students gain clear career orientations and prepare for future professional success."

Recalling his time choosing a major and a university, Xuan Hoang said, "At that time, the name ‘University of Economics, UD’ itself represented the field I wanted to pursue. I gathered information from various sources, including newspapers, the internet, and even family members. I learned that the university had a high-quality program specializing in my area of interest, so I chose DUE over other universities. I am very proud to be a DUE alumnus." He also emphasized that where you study is not as important as how you study. However, he advised students to select a university that allows them to develop their strengths and fully enhance their capabilities. "Teachers are not just knowledge providers; they can also accompany and guide you toward the right path in life. Fortunately, the University of Economics did exactly that for me".

The University of Economics, UD, proactively strengthens connections with businesses, especially alumni, to better understand labor market demands and employer expectations. This effort provides students with internship opportunities, hands-on experiences, and even job placements after graduation.
