Sharing Experiences in Developing Teaching Materials for Blended Learning

On the afternoon of February 26, the Trade Union of the Faculty of International Business, in collaboration with the Trade Union of the Faculty of Statistics - Informatics, organized a seminar on "Developing Teaching Materials for Blended Learning" at the University of Economics - University of Danang. The seminar served as a platform for faculty members to share insights and enhance their understanding of blended learning strategies. It also aimed to foster cross-faculty exchanges on best practices in implementing blended learning and encourage innovative teaching methods to improve student engagement and learning outcomes.
The seminar was honored to have the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Huy, Rector of the University of Economics; Dr. Huynh Thi Hong Hanh, Vice Rector and Chairwoman of the University’s Trade Union; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh, Vice Rector of the University. The event also attracted the participation of numerous faculty members.
During the seminar, attendees had the opportunity to listen to three presentations:
- “Applying Canva and AI to Develop Lecture Videos for Blended Learning” by M.A. Tran Thi Thu Thao (Trade Union of the Faculty of Statistics - Informatics).
- “Various Applications Supporting Blended Learning” by M.A. Tran Thien Tri (Trade Union of the Faculty of International Business).
- “Sharing Experiences in Implementing Blended Learning on the Moodle Platform” by M.A. Nguyen Thanh Thuy (Trade Union of the Faculty of Statistics - Informatics).

The presentations highlighted the role and functionality of tools like Canva and AI in lesson design, integrating videos into the Blended Learning model. Additionally, they discussed the application of digital tools and technology platforms that support Blended Learning, allowing both faculty and students to access course materials more dynamically, conveniently, and effectively. Moreover, the speakers shared their experiences in effectively implementing the open-source Moodle learning management system (LMS) to enhance the quality of lecture content and improve student learning experiences.

Following the presentations, faculty members engaged in lively discussions on integrating technology into teaching, sharing challenges and solutions in developing teaching materials for Blended Learning. Contributions focused on optimizing course content, increasing interactivity in hybrid classrooms (both online and offline), and effectively utilizing digital tools.

In his closing remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Huy emphasized that the application of technology in teaching not only enhances knowledge delivery but also creates flexibility for learners. He affirmed that developing teaching materials for Blended Learning is an inevitable trend in modern education. The university will continue prioritizing investment in digital transformation across various aspects, particularly in teaching and research.
