International Scientific Conference “Sustainable University Development: Opportunities and Challenges” - Session on “Sustainable Trade Economics”

On the afternoon of November 7th, the University of Economics - UDN successfully organized the International Scientific Conference with the theme “Sustainable University Development: Opportunities and Challenges” - Session on “Sustainable Trade Economics” in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the University of Danang. During the session on “Sustainable Trade Economics,” delegates focused on discussing urgent topics related to sustainability, law, technology, and economic development.

The conference served as an academic forum to connect and expand the network of experts both domestically and internationally. The thematic reports laid the groundwork for exchange and interaction with leading experts in these fields, creating a roadmap toward a more sustainable future. The ideas and solutions presented at the conference will be valuable resources for leaders, policymakers, and researchers in the process of developing and internationalizing higher education.

The conference content centered around three main themes, beginning with Theme 1: Smart Cities and Law. Delegates heard a presentation on “Regulations on Smart Cities and Natural Law” by Prof. Gustavo Cerqueira from Côte d'Azur University, France. Following that, Dr. Pham Minh Thy Van from the University of Economics - UDN, shared a report on “Protecting Intellectual Property Rights in Smart Cities” and her perspectives on the role of law in safeguarding innovation in the context of urban technology.

Continuing with other engaging themes, including Theme 2: Information Technology and Citizenship and Theme 3: Valuation of Cultural Heritage and Economic Assets. Notable reports presented in these two themes included: “Protecting Personal Data under Vietnam's Personal Data Protection Decree in Education,” “Legal Framework and Challenges of E-commerce in Vietnam,” and “Artificial Intelligence for Legal History: Towards New Sources of Exploration.”

After the presentations, the conference opened a lively discussion session that drew enthusiastic participation from leading scholars and experts. In an atmosphere of open exchange, questions centered around the role of law and technology in sustainable university development. Researchers from France provided in-depth dialogue, emphasizing the necessity of a flexible yet stringent legal framework to regulate and promote sustainability in the context of global integration.
