On the afternoon of October 16, the Trade Union of the University of Economics - UDN solemnly held a ceremony to commemorate the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women’s Union (October 20, 1930 - October 20, 2024) and to honor the newly graduated female PhDs who have returned to the university after outstandingly completing their studies. This event was an opportunity for the university to recognize the important role of women in education and scientific research, as well as their significant contributions to the overall development of the university.
In attendance were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh, Party Committee Secretary and Chair of the University Council; Dr. Huynh Thi Hong Hanh, Vice Rector and Chair of the University’s Trade Union; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh, Vice Rector and Head of the Committee for the Advancement of Women at the University of Economics, along with leaders from various departments, centers, and a large number of trade union members.

In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh affirmed the vital role of women in societal development, emphasizing the importance of promoting gender equality and providing opportunities for women to realize their full potential. He expressed pride in witnessing the growth and positive contributions of the university’s female staff to the institution and society.

The ceremony was a special occasion to honor the university’s new PhDs, women who excel not only in their professional roles but also in their family responsibilities. Over the past year, the university proudly welcomed newly graduated female PhDs who have returned to contribute to the institution: Dr. Tran Thi Kim Phuong (Faculty of Tourism) and Dr. Nguyen Thi Sang (Faculty of Statistics and Informatics).
