To review the achievements and activities of the University Trade Union in the 2023-2024 academic year and to look ahead to the key tasks of the new school year, on the morning of September 18, the Trade Union held a summary conference of union activities for the 2023-2024 academic year and launched tasks for the 2024-2025 academic year. Attendees included Dr. Le Khanh Toan, Vice Chairman of the University of Danang Trade Union; from the University of Economics, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairwoman of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Huy, Rector; Dr. Huynh Thi Hong Hanh, Vice Rector and Chairwoman of the University Trade Union; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh, Vice Rector, and other members of the Executive Committee of the University Trade Union, departmental trade unions, and university lecturers.
The conference reviewed the notable activities of the University Trade Union during the 2023-2024 academic year through a video presentation. Over the past school year, the University Trade Union and its departments implemented key tasks with many innovations in operations, organizing various professional and movement activities at a large scale and quality, which received broad support from union members. The Trade Union also actively and effectively participated in issuing and executing key policies, strengthening union operations, and contributing to the development of governance while protecting the welfare and benefits of staff across the university. The Trade Union collaborated with university leaders to ensure the material and spiritual well-being of the staff, with improvements in working conditions, teaching environments, and infrastructure, as well as enhanced application of information technology in management and teaching. The Union effectively communicated national policies, the directives of the Ministry of Education, the Party, the University of Danang Trade Union, and the Party Committee and Board of Rectors of the university through various channels. In motivating staff, the Trade Union organized numerous professional activities, such as the May 2024 seminar titled “Artificial Intelligence: A Driving Force for Innovation in Teaching.” The Union also focused on women's activities, attracting significant participation from members with vibrant celebrations, social gatherings, and cultural exchanges. In cooperation with the university administration, the Union promoted the "Good Teaching – Good Learning" movement, linked to the theme of "Innovation and Creativity in Teaching and Learning," along with the campaign "Every Teacher is a Model of Morality, Self-study, and Creativity," which created a significant impact through the video contest "Teachers in My Eyes." Cultural, artistic, and sporting activities were regularly organized, promoting health, discovering talents, and providing dynamic, meaningful platforms for interaction, strengthening unity within the university. In addition to protecting the legitimate interests of staff, under the guidance of the Party Committee and in collaboration with the administration, the Trade Union consistently organized community-focused and charitable activities in a meaningful, practical manner. The Union also played an active role in the cooperation program between the university and Hoa Vang District and responded to the “Danang City’s Joint Effort to Build New Rural Areas 2023-2025” campaign through various initiatives. The University Trade Union of the University of Economics was honored with a Flag of Emulation from the Vietnam Education Trade Union for its excellent achievements in organizing and implementing union activities during the 2023-2024 academic year.

Building on its achievements, the University Trade Union is determined to excel in fulfilling tasks for the 2024-2025 academic year, a year with many major events for the University of Danang and the University of Economics. The Union will continue encouraging and educating staff to work diligently with increased productivity and quality, emphasizing personal and collective responsibility. Each staff member is expected to clearly understand and convey the university’s mission, educational philosophy, values, and 50-year tradition. The Trade Union and its departments will actively engage in policy-making, monitoring, and safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of the staff while collaborating with university leadership to ensure the material and spiritual well-being of employees. The Union will continue to organize significant movements and campaigns aligned with national events, particularly in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the University of Danang and the 50th anniversary of the University of Economics. Women’s affairs, gender equality, and cultural, artistic, and sporting activities will continue to be diverse, innovative, and creative, offering more meaningful platforms for union members. Additionally, the Trade Union will propose meaningful initiatives that leverage the university’s strengths in community service and social responsibility, as well as enhance its cooperation program with Hoa Vang District.
