Studying in New Zealand: Dang Linh Chi and her dreams to explore the world

Last January, a young lady that has appeared at APEC 2017 - Dang Linh Chi (Faculty of Finance) has chosen the path to study at Massey University (New Zealand). In order to fulfill her dream of reaching out to the world, Dang Linh Chi has made great efforts in improving her English skills as well as enlisting the support of family and friends when deciding to travel abroad and study in New Zealand. Sharing her decision to choose a 2 + 2 transfer program, she said: “This is a very ideal form of study abroad. The first is the savings in tuition fees and living costs. Secondly, I have enough time in Vietnam to carefully prepare for this trip and in the end, the study abroad procedure is quite simple thanks to the support from the University of Economics as well as the Faculty of Finance”.

Dang Linh Chi shows that she has a very careful preparation for this trip as she has researched all cooperation programs between the University of Economics - The University of Da Nang and foreign partners. And the school has a very high ranking - Massey University has been chosen by Linh Chi to be a stopover for the next journey. “Besides that, New Zealand with the main language of English is also a favorable environment for me to adapt and integrate. Moreover, the 2-year study period is also very suitable for my needs”, shared by Linh Chi.


New Zealand and first feelings

Setting foot in Palmerston North city (New Zealand), Linh Chi was really impressed by the friendliness, kindness of the local people. The warm and pleasant climate has also helped her quickly integrate into the peaceful pace of life here. The witty friend commented: “Beautiful New Zealand is just like fairyland in the fairy tales. In addition, the amiability of everyone has helped Asian students like me overcome the barriers of geographical distance, language, culture and help me be more confident for the upcoming journey”.

Not only impressed with the land of New Zealand, Dang Linh Chi also had a good initial feeling about Massey University - where she is studying. Linh Chi said, the educational program here ranges from the quality of the learning content to the faculty and activities to support students. In class, students are related to practical issues in career and life. Lecturers and tutors are always ready to answer any problem and support students as much as possible. “At first, some difficulties appeared when we had to learn specialized terminology as well as new learning methods. However, when students have caught up with their work and immersed themselves in such a scientific method of learning, students are excited to learn. In the coming time, there will be many challenges, but I will try to improve my knowledge, complete my studies well, and also spend time exploring this beautiful country”, Chi excitedly said.

Dang Linh Chi is a student at the University of Economics - University of Da Nang. She is studying at Massey University (New Zealand) under the 2.5 + 1.5 transfer program that is cooperated between the two universities. Currently, the University of Economics affiliated with 50 universities around the world and this has created many opportunities for students to fulfill their dream of studying abroad.
