SEMINAR “INFORMATION ENVIRONMENT, SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES, AND CORPORATE FINANCIAL DECISIONS”

On January 15, the University of Economics – University of Danang successfully organized a scientific seminar themed “Information Environment, Sustainable Development Activities, and Corporate Financial Decisions.” The seminar attracted the participation of many experts and scholars who gathered to discuss, share insights, and analyze the relationship between the information environment, sustainable development, and corporate financial decision-making.

The seminar was held to create an academic forum for experts and researchers to engage in in-depth discussions and exchanges on the impacts of sustainable development activities, policy uncertainty, and the financial information environment on the overall economy and the stock market in particular, as well as on key corporate financial decisions such as capital structure, investment, and cash-holding decisions. The seminar also examined the mechanisms behind these impacts and the role of the institutional environment in shaping such relationships.

 

In her opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Vo Thi Thuy Anh, Chairwoman of the University Council of the University of Economics, emphasized the importance of studying the relationship between the information environment, sustainable development, and corporate finance in the new context. She affirmed that the seminar served as an important forum for discussion and deeper understanding of the role and impact of sustainable development activities in promoting the development of financial markets. From this foundation, policymakers may derive appropriate and effective policy recommendations and action orientations.

At the seminar, the following papers were presented:

1. “Corporate Sustainability Performance and Stock Liquidity: International Evidence” presented by Dr. Ho Thi Hai Ly.


2. “The Impact of Financial Media on Stock Market Liquidity” presented by Assoc. Prof. Dang Tung Lam.


3. “Examining the Mechanism through which Business Strategy Affects Corporate Cash Policies” presented by Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thi Thieu Quang.


4. “The Impact of Credit Supply on Corporate Investment Decisions: Evidence from a Multi-Country Sample” presented by Dr. Thai Thi Hong An.


5. “The Impact of Economic Policies on the Vietnamese Stock Market” presented by Dr. Hoang Van Hai.

 

 

Following the presentations, participants engaged in in-depth discussions and shared thoughtful feedback aimed at improving the quality of the studies and enhancing their practical relevance in the current economic context. The seminar concluded with many meaningful and practical outcomes. The insightful contributions and in-depth exchanges from the speakers not only offered new perspectives but also laid an important foundation for businesses to continue innovating and developing amid an economy full of challenges and opportunities.
