Welcoming New PhD Candidates of Cohort K49 (5th Intake): Ready to Integrate into a Professional Research Environment

On the morning of February 26, 2026, the University of Economics - The University of Danang organized a welcome meeting for five new PhD candidates of Cohort K49 admitted in the 5th intake of 2025. The candidates are enrolled in the disciplines of Development Economics, Business Administration, and Finance - Banking. The program also introduced important regulations related to doctoral training and management.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Bui Trung Hiep - Acting Head of the Office of Student Affairs, Business Relations and Communications - congratulated the new PhD candidates and emphasized that becoming a doctoral researcher marks a significant academic milestone, reflecting determination, commitment, and the aspiration to conquer new heights of knowledge. The University is committed to fostering a rigorous and professional research environment while providing strong support to help doctoral candidates successfully complete their training programs.

Representing the new doctoral candidates, PhD candidate Nguyen Thi Quynh Anh (Economics) expressed her honor at officially becoming a member of the doctoral research community of the University of Economics. “The journey ahead will certainly involve many challenges; however, with the dedicated guidance of our lecturers and the spirit of mutual support among doctoral candidates, we are confident that we will fulfill our academic and research responsibilities and contribute valuable scholarly works to society,” she shared.

Within the framework of the program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thieu Quang - Deputy Head of the Academic Affairs Office - introduced key regulations concerning doctoral training and management. The session provided detailed information on study plans, research progress requirements, scientific publications, responsibilities of doctoral candidates and supervisors, as well as available academic support services. Through this orientation, the new PhD candidates gained a clear understanding of the program requirements and were able to proactively plan their study and research pathways to ensure both quality and progress in accordance with regulations.

In addition, the University organized visits to relevant offices and faculties to help the doctoral candidates gain a better understanding of the facilities, research environment, and support units available throughout their study period.


With thorough preparation and clear orientation from the very beginning of the program, the new PhD candidates are expected to maximize their research potential and make meaningful contributions to the scientific achievements of the University of Economics and the broader academic community in the coming years.
