University of Economics and Viettel Da Nang Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement, Promoting Comprehensive Digital Transformation in Higher Education

On January 21, 2026, the University of Economics - The University of Danang held a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Viettel Da Nang, a branch of the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (Viettel). The event marked an important milestone in the cooperative relationship between the University and one of Vietnam’s leading technology enterprises, aiming to develop high-quality human resources and promote comprehensive digital transformation in higher education.

Attending the ceremony on behalf of Viettel Da Nang were Ms. Nguyen Vu Tra My, Director of Viettel Da Nang, along with representatives from specialized departments. Representing the University of Economics were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh, Vice Rector of the University, together with leaders of departments, faculties, and affiliated centers.

In her speech at the event, Ms. Nguyen Vu Tra My affirmed that Viettel always places great importance on cooperation with higher education institutions, particularly in the areas of digital transformation, technology infrastructure development, and digital human resource training. Through such cooperation, Viettel aims to contribute to building a modern education ecosystem that closely connects academic training with real-world business practice.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh emphasized that the cooperation with Viettel Da Nang not only opens up numerous opportunities for students in learning, internships, and employment, but also serves as an important foundation for the University to gradually develop a Digital University model, enhancing the effectiveness of governance, teaching, and learning in the context of the national digital transformation.

According to the MoU, the two parties will collaborate comprehensively in the following areas: training and human resource development; career orientation and recruitment. In particular, Viettel will provide consultancy support to the University of Economics on digital infrastructure solutions, including transmission systems, LAN–WiFi, data storage, big data analytics (Big Data, AI Platform), private 5G networks, and AI camera systems, to support the University’s digital transformation. Viettel will also provide solutions for digital university governance (Viettel Edu, Smart University), training management applications, e-learning LMS platforms, digital signature applications, dormitory management, smart parking systems, electronic contracts, and electronic invoices, as well as platforms developed and owned by Viettel to support the Digital University model, such as IoT platforms, CallBot, ChatBot, and online payment solutions via Viettel Money.

In addition, Viettel will support consultancy, surveys, and assessments of the University’s information security status, proposing solutions to ensure infrastructure and application security (Audit, Penetration Testing), network information security monitoring (SOC), log analysis, and security event management (SIEM).

The signing ceremony is expected to pave the way for many practical and effective cooperation programs between the University of Economics and Viettel Da Nang in the coming period, contributing to improving training quality, strengthening university–enterprise linkages, and meeting human resource development requirements in the digital era.
