DOCTORAL PROGRAM

Specialization: Business Administration

1. Program Objectives 

The Doctoral Program in Business Administration aims to develop graduates who embody the qualities of modern scholars—individuals with deep theoretical knowledge and advanced research skills in the field of business administration. 

Specifically, the program seeks to train high-level researchers with strong theoretical foundations and practical competencies in management science. Doctoral graduates are expected to be capable of conducting independent and innovative research, identifying and addressing new scientific and technological problems in the field, and guiding research activities within the discipline. 

Graduates of the program are also expected to uphold strong political and ethical standards, demonstrate a commitment to public service, and contribute to the socio-economic and scientific–technological development of the country.

2. Program Learning Outcomes 

(PLOs) PLO1 – Ability to analyze, compare, evaluate, and systematize theoretical foundations, and to advance theory in the field of management and business. 

PLO2 – Ability to develop a comprehensive research plan in management science. 

PLO3 – Ability to apply appropriate scientific research methods to address a research problem. 

PLO4 – Ability to communicate academically (in both spoken and written forms) in Vietnamese and English. 

PLO5 – Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and conceptualization skills. 

PLO6 – Ability to engage in self-directed learning and conduct independent research. 

PLO7 – Ability to uphold ethics and integrity in research.

3. Career Opportunities 

Graduates of the Doctoral Program in Business Administration may pursue careers as academics or researchers in universities, colleges, and research institutes; or serve as senior managers in business organizations, public administrative bodies, and non-profit institutions. 

4. Doctoral-Level Courses, PhD Seminars, and Comprehensive Review Paper 

The doctoral-level courses, PhD seminars, and the comprehensive review paper are listed in Table 4.1. Doctoral candidates must complete 4 doctoral-level courses (10 credits), 2 doctoral seminars (6 credits), and a comprehensive review paper. Detailed descriptions of the course content are provided in the appendix of the program proposal.
