Quality Education

Generation Z, commonly known as Gen Z, refers to the demographic group born between 1997 and 2012. Growing up in Da Nang, a dynamic city, Gen Z has more choices in education, careers and lifestyle. Some turn their interests into careers, others find fulfilment in travelling, while some seek to contribute to their hometown through everyday actions and initiatives.

After graduating with a degree in Tourism and Travel Management from the University of Economics, The University of Danang, Nguyen Thi Nhu Quynh now works at Ecovietour’s Da Nang representative office. Alongside her job, she has developed her own brand, “Nhu Quynh Booking”, promoting tours, hotels, destinations and travel experiences in Da Nang, Hoi An and Hue through online platforms. For Quynh, earning a living from work she enjoys is a way to turn her knowledge and personal strengths into practical value while building an income and gaining greater financial independence.

However, Quynh’s life extends beyond work. An avid explorer, she regularly travels, discovers new places and makes time to enjoy life. These trips not only satisfy her personal interests but also broaden her experience, perspectives and inspiration for work. For Quynh, success is measured not only by income, but also by personal growth, caring for her family and enjoying the things she values.

For Huynh Nguyen Yen Nhi, an International Business student at DUE, the journey centres on learning, gaining experience and gradually preparing for the future. As a student ambassador for The University of Danang, Nhi shares insights into academic life, student experiences, events and the city’s cultural identity through articles, photographs and hands-on activities. She also participates in Youth Union and student association activities, as well as the community project “Smiles for Children".

At present, Nhi devotes most of her time to studying and building a strong knowledge base before entering the workforce. Outside the classroom, she pursues her interests in singing, hosting events, artistic activities and volunteering. Nhi says she has become financially independent in covering her living expenses. This experience has helped her better understand the value of work, learn to manage her spending and recognise that she still needs to make further efforts to achieve long-term stability.

In terms of career aspirations, Nhi hopes to work in a dynamic environment aligned with her field of study, offering opportunities to communicate, learn and grow. She also values flexible working hours that would allow her to continue pursuing her passions and community projects. For now, she prioritises building knowledge and experience while cultivating discipline and a strong sense of responsibility to prepare for future choices. “When young people use their knowledge, creativity and technology to promote their localities, spread positive values and engage in community activities, they can make their youth more meaningful,” Nhi said.

These stories illustrate that Gen Z cannot be defined by a single lifestyle or a universal measure of success. Some seek flexibility at work, others combine their passions with career development, while some actively apply their knowledge to contribute to their hometown. Others are still exploring the path that best suits them.

These diverse choices and efforts are helping shape the multifaceted identity of today’s younger generation. Each individual has a different starting point, set of interests and personal journey. Through education, work and practical experience, they are gradually finding their place in life amid Da Nang’s ongoing development.
