Raising Students’ Legal Awareness and Digital Citizenship Skills

On October 15, 2026, the University of Economics, The University of Danang (DUE), held a legal awareness programme on digital conduct, online abuse prevention and responses to cyberbullying, aiming to raise students’ awareness and sense of responsibility in using the Internet safely, responsibly and in compliance with the law.
At the programme, Senior Lieutenant Colonel and Master Nguyen Hung Loi, Deputy Head of the Internal Political Security Division of the Da Nang City Police, shared legal knowledge and essential skills to help students identify online security risks, protect themselves proactively against online abuse and respond appropriately to cyberbullying and violence in digital environments.

The awareness campaign focused on identifying harmful and malicious content, staying alert to online scams, and protecting personal information and accounts in digital environments. Students were also reminded of their responsibility to verify information before sharing it, behave respectfully on social media and comply with legal regulations when participating in online spaces.
As digital platforms become increasingly integral to young people’s learning, communication and daily lives, equipping students with legal knowledge and online self-protection skills has become particularly important. Seemingly simple actions, such as sharing unverified information, providing personal data to untrusted sources or clicking suspicious links, can expose users to information security risks and potential legal consequences.

Through the programme, DUE aims to foster a safe and healthy educational environment while encouraging students to proactively update their legal knowledge, strengthen their ability to identify risks and take responsibility for their activities in digital spaces.
The initiative also contributes to strengthening cooperation between the university and the Da Nang City Police in legal awareness and education, promoting digital citizenship and preventing legal violations among students.
