DUE Students Intern in Thailand, Expanding International Integration Capabilities

From July to September 2026, four students from the University of Economics - The University of Danang are participating in an international internship program at King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), embarking on a journey that blends study, work, and life experiences in Thailand.

The internship program is designed to bridge academic knowledge with business reality. DUE students are directly immersed in the corporate environment of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) - a key industrial and technological development zone in Thailand. This is an opportunity for students to put their classroom knowledge to the test, while honing professional skills in a multicultural and international workplace.

DUE students participate in internships in Thailand

In this round of internships, three students - Pham Thi Tra My (class 49K01.2E, Faculty of International Business), Nguyen Dang Thanh Tam (class 49K25.3, Faculty of Business Administration), and Phan Thi Cam Linh (class 49K01.1-E, Faculty of International Business) - are interning at Thai Summit Autoparts, a reputable leading company in the automotive supporting industry. The students are provided daily transportation by the university and the company, receive support, and have access to the company canteen, offering an experience akin to that of official employees.

For Mai An Huy (class 49K01.2-E, Faculty of International Business), the internship takes place at Thai MMI Service and Supply. Each day, Huy is picked up by colleagues at the university campus and receives support throughout the internship. The experience exposes students to real-world operational processes, enhancing professional skills as well as communication abilities in an international environment.

Beyond working at enterprises, DUE students live and study at KMUTNB, with full access to dormitories, classrooms, laboratories, and support services for international students. Living on campus helps students easily connect with Thai and international peers, gradually adapting to a new learning environment.

Notably, DUE students had the opportunity to attend the Wai Kru Ceremony - a traditional ritual held at the beginning of the academic year in Thai schools and universities to express gratitude to teachers. In the solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, offerings including Ixora flowers, eggplant flowers, Bermuda grass, and popped rice, symbolizing wisdom, humility, determination, and the spirit of learning, helped DUE students gain deeper understanding of Thailand’s cultural value of respecting teachers and honoring education.

The three-month internship journey in Thailand offers students the chance to experience life in a developed Southeast Asian nation, cultivate adaptability, multicultural communication, and global citizenship thinking. Each experience contributes to building career readiness and integration skills for DUE students.
