11th Congress of the University of Economics Trade Union, Term 2025 - 2030: Unity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development

On the 22/11/2025, The Trade Union of the University of Economics, University of Da Nang, solemnly held its 11th Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term, attended by 144 official delegates representing 444 union members across the university. The event took place amid a vibrant atmosphere of emulation in the lead-up to trade union congresses at all levels, culminating in the 14th National Trade Union Congress of Vietnam, marking a new chapter in the development of the university’s trade union organization.

Among the distinguished guests were Associate Professor Dr. Tran Huu Phuc, Chairman of the University of Da Nang Trade Union; Professor Dr. Le Van Huy, Member of the University of Da Nang Party Committee Executive Board and Rector of the University of Economics; Professor Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairwoman of the University Council; along with members of the university’s leadership and representatives of mass organizations.

In her opening speech, Dr. Huynh Thi Hong Hanh - Vice Rector and Chairwoman of the University Trade Union - highlighted the special context of this congress, as Vietnam enters a period of robust transformation in innovation, science and technology, and educational development in line with major resolutions of the Party and State. She described the congress as a crucial occasion to comprehensively review the union’s activities during the 2023 - 2025 term, draw lessons learned, and set out objectives, tasks, and solutions for the 2025 - 2030 term in alignment with the university’s development strategy. The Chairwoman also extended gratitude to the University of Da Nang Trade Union, the Party Committee, and the university leadership for their constant support and favorable conditions that enabled the union to successfully fulfill its duties in the previous term.

Delegates listened to the summary report of the 2023 - 2025 term, which highlighted outstanding achievements in representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of faculty and staff; coordinating cultural, sports, and social activities to foster a positive and cohesive working environment; contributing to Party-building and governance; strengthening the union organization; enhancing professional training for members; and supporting new rural development in Hoa Vang district, among others. The congress also candidly acknowledged shortcomings, analyzed their causes, and drew valuable lessons to improve effectiveness in the coming period.

Lively and constructive discussions focused on major orientations for the new term. Many delegates proposed closer integration of trade union activities with the university’s core missions of high-quality human resource training, scientific research, and digital transformation; richer and more diverse activities for female members, culture, sports, and arts to enhance workplace cohesion; and greater decentralization to departmental unions to enable more tailored and proactive initiatives.


The Congress acknowledged the valuable contributions and feedback from the delegates.

In his guiding remarks, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Huu Phuc commended the efforts and achievements of the University of Economics Trade Union over the past term. He urged the union to further promote unity, innovation, and proactiveness; stay attuned to the situation of faculty and staff; and strengthen its representative and caring role amid digital transformation and rising demands for quality human resources in higher education.

Representing the university leadership, Professor Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh highly appreciated the union’s significant contributions to building a healthy, humane academic and working environment. She called on the trade union to deepen its partnership with the university in implementing its development strategy, particularly in educational innovation, science and technology, and international integration, while continuing to promote grassroots democracy, internal solidarity, and the dissemination of DUE’s distinctive culture.

In a spirit of responsibility and democracy, the congress elected a new 9-member Executive Committee for the 11th term (2025 - 2030), comprising capable, reputable, and dedicated individuals. It also elected 21 out of 22 delegates to attend the 7th Congress of the University of Da Nang Trade Union.

The congress unanimously adopted the key directions and tasks for the 2025 - 2030 term, with the central goal of building a strong trade union organization that serves as an effective bridge between faculty, staff, and the university administration while accompanying the institution’s strategy in modern university governance, digital transformation, and deeper international integration.
