Signing Of Cooperation Agreement Between The University Of Economics And Son Tra Ward People’s Committee

On the afternoon of November 4, 2025, at Son Tra Ward People’s Committee, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony was held between the University of Economics - University of Da Nang and Son Tra Ward People’s Committee.

The two parties agreed to cooperate in leveraging their respective strengths to implement activities in scientific research, application, and knowledge transfer, contributing to the achievement of local socio-economic development goals. At the same time, the cooperation aims to connect the University’s training and research activities with grassroots practices, creating favorable conditions for faculty members and students to participate in practical programs and projects, thereby contributing to the improvement of human resource quality.

Mr. Hoang Son Tra, Party Secretary and Chairman of the People’s Council of Son Tra Ward, expressed his appreciation and high regard for the strategic cooperation with the University of Economics. With Son Tra’s strong potential in the marine economy and tourism, the support from the University will help effectively exploit local resources, promote start-up activities and digital transformation, and contribute to the implementation of the Resolution of the Ward Party Congress. Son Tra Ward People’s Committee committed to creating the most favorable conditions for cooperation activities to be carried out smoothly, bringing practical benefits to both parties and the local community.

Sharing at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Huy, Rector of the University of Economics, emphasized that the cooperation with Son Tra Ward People’s Committee represents an important opportunity for the University to apply academic knowledge and research outcomes to real-life practices, making practical contributions to local socio-economic development. The Rector expressed confidence that the University’s faculty members, experts, and students will accompany and support the Ward in achieving its strategic goals, while also expanding valuable experiential learning opportunities for future generations.

Mr. Vo Dinh Cong, Vice Chairman of Son Tra Ward People’s Committee, presented the key cooperation contents.

The main areas of cooperation include:

- Coordinating in developing a project to effectively harness marine economic potential and community-based tourism, in alignment with major orientations and breakthrough initiatives under Resolution No. 36-NQ/TW dated October 22, 2018 of the 12th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and the Resolution of the 1st Son Tra Ward Party Congress, term 2025–2030.

- Cooperating in developing solutions to support start-ups and digital transformation, promoting the development of the private economy; strengthening dialogue, engagement, and support for investors and enterprises to address difficulties and obstacles, in parallel with administrative procedure reforms and improvements to the investment and business environment; and actively supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, household businesses, and cooperative economies.

- Cooperating in research, planning, and development of tourism activities in the Son Tra beach area.

- Jointly organizing seminars, professional exchanges, and experience-sharing activities on issues of mutual interest.

- Son Tra Ward People’s Committee facilitating conditions for the University’s students to undertake internships, research activities, and graduation theses at affiliated units.

The MoU signing ceremony establishes a foundation for sustainable and strategic cooperation between the University of Economics and Son Tra Ward People’s Committee, contributing to the dissemination of academic knowledge into practice and accompanying the development of the local community.
