Strengthening Cooperation with the University of Washington, USA

On the morning of September 5, 2025, the University of Economics - University of Da Nang (DUE) held a meeting with representatives from the University of Washington (USA) to promote international cooperation opportunities in training and scientific research. The meeting was attended by Professor Nguyen Xuan Thao, Director of the Asian Law Center at the University of Washington; Associate Professor Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh, Vice Rector of DUE, along with representatives from the Office of Science and International Cooperation and the Faculty of Law.

During the meeting, both sides discussed various potential cooperation directions, focusing on: organizing international seminars and scientific conferences on management; enhancing faculty and student exchanges; implementing visiting scholar programs for young DUE lecturers to conduct short-term research and study in the USA; and developing collaborative research and advanced training in digital finance. Additionally, discussions included support policies for Vietnamese scholars through international scholarship programs such as Fulbright.

The meeting opened new prospects for cooperation, contributing to improving the quality of training and scientific research at DUE while affirming the university’s pioneering role in the process of international higher education integration.

On the same day, Professor Nguyen Xuan Thao held an academic discussion with DUE faculty and students on the topic “Law on Artificial Intelligence”. Professor Thao analyzed legal aspects related to the development and application of AI, while sharing practical experiences from international research projects, providing attendees with a comprehensive perspective on the legal framework, responsibilities, and challenges in this field.
