On the afternoon of June 26, 2025, the University of Economics - University of Danang (DUE) solemnly organized the handover ceremony of OCOP brand identity packages and the summary of its cooperation program with the People’s Committee of Hoa Vang District for the period 2023-2025. The event highlighted outstanding achievements in the university’s efforts to accompany and foster the local socio-economic development.

The event was honored by the presence of To Van Hung, Member of the City Party Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the People's Committee of Da Nang City.

From the side of Hoa Vang District, participants included: Bui Hong Trung - Secretary of the District Party Committee; Phan Van Ton - Chairman of the District People's Committee; and Nguyen Thuc Dung - Standing Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee.

Representing the University of Danang were: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan - Vice President; M.A. Phan Kim Tuan - Vice Chairman of the Trade Union, Chief of the Party and Union Affairs Office; and Dr. Do Le Hung Toan - Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union, President of the Student Association.

On behalf of the University of Economics, the delegation included: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh - Party Secretary, Chair of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Huy - Rector; Dr. Huynh Thi Hong Hanh - Vice Rector, President of the University Trade Union; alongside leaders of various departments, faculties, and organizations.

Building on the effective cooperation from the period 2013-2020 and following the emulation movement “Da Nang joins forces to build new-style rural areas 2023-2025”, in May 2023, the University of Economics and Hoa Vang District signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement, marking a new phase of practical contributions to local socio-economic development. Among the highlights was the design and delivery of brand identity packages for OCOP products - specialty items from communes within the district.

In just three years, nearly 30 brand identity packages were developed by the university for local households, cooperatives, and enterprises in Hoa Vang. These outcomes stemmed from a process of field surveys, conceptualization, design, and joint implementation carried out by university lecturers and students in collaboration with local stakeholders. The branding efforts not only enhanced product professionalism and recognition but also opened new market access opportunities for local producers.

During the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Huy and Dr. Huynh Thi Hong Hanh formally handed over the packages to the district and to representatives of businesses and production households, including: Do 37 Clean Agricultural Cooperative, Viana Co., Ltd., Hoa Tien Rice Facility, and others.

In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Huy affirmed that the results achieved are evidence of a successful collaboration model between universities and local authorities. He emphasized that this is not only part of the university’s social responsibility but also a valuable opportunity to link education and scientific research with real-world needs and local development.

Mr. Phan Van Ton, Chairman of the Hoa Vang District People’s Committee, also expressed appreciation for the university’s practical contributions in enhancing product value, supporting communication efforts, promoting tourism, and improving human resource capacity in the district. He acknowledged that the programs initiated by the university have effectively harnessed the district’s potential, promoting socio-economic growth while preserving local cultural and historical heritage, and significantly contributing to the district’s rural modernization efforts.

The event marked an important milestone in the cooperation between the two units, with high expectations for further collaboration, especially in the context of upcoming administrative reforms in Hoa Vang District and Da Nang City.
