Sekong province’s executives met with Lao students at DUE

On the afternoon of 21st May, Mr. Thavon Phommalayloun – Deputy Mayor of Sekong Province (Laos), along with his retinue, paid a visit to University of Economics – The University of Danang. The group was met by Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phuc Nguyen – Head of Department of Research and International Cooperation, MSc. Tran Quoc Hung – Head of Department of Student Affairs and Lao students studying at DUE.

At the meeting, representatives of DUE welcomed the visit of Sekong Province delegations. As a high-quality university in the Central – Central Highland region of Vietnam, DUE is an ideal environment for Lao students to study and self-develop. In the current years, the University has trained thousand of Lao Masters and Doctors, which contributes to the building and development of Lao Economy.

Currently, there are 27 Lao students, including post-graduate ones from Sekong Province studying at DUE. The University also offers many encouragement scholarships to Lao students as well as improve facilities and equipment to provide a better place of study for them.

On behalf of Sekong Province’s executives, Mr. Thavon Phommalayloun expressed his gratefulness towards DUE’s staff and lecturers for supporting students from Sekong. The province’s executives pay a lot of attention to Lao students in Vietnam and consider them as important human resources for future development of Sekong. Moreover, Mr. Thavon Phommalayloun met with Lao students and gave them orientation about careers.
