Choose your opportunity, choose New Zealand

18/04/2019

As the type of person who likes to explore, I love free life. The roads I have passed, the people who I have met are the source of new thoughts and plans. Talking to Nguyen Truong Gia Bao, a New Zealand international student who just came back to Vietnam, reminds me of smart people who take advantage of opportunities.

Exploring new horizons

When it comes to study abroad destinations, most young people will probably think of countries like the US, UK, Australia, Europe ... New Zealand is a name that is not strange but probably not yet a top choice. The English - Speaking environment, the charming landscape and indigenous nature have urged Bao to come to this country.

Do not choose free things to invest in the future

With great achievements, I was quite surprised to know that he chose to study abroad on his own. Studying abroad, with this guy, is to go far away from the field that he study. Therefore, investing on your own instead of relying on scholarship programs with barriers and unfavorable constraints is a very hard decision. Currently, Bao is in charge of marketing communications for InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort. Bao believes that in the developing stage of the tourism industry in particular, the current job will help him have more diverse marketing experiences.

Fight to create a revolution for yourself

Desiring to experience the full years of studying abroad, Bao tried every opportunity to learn and practice. He has actively tried himself with extracurricular activities or potential extra jobs. For over a year, this young man has taken on various roles and job positions such as tutor at Lincoln University, media consultant for one of New Zealand's largest telecommunications companies and in charge of Markerting content for federation of educational institutions in Christchurch, New Zealand. Despite his confidence in his foreign language, at first, Bao still faced many difficulties to overcome indigenous candidates or super-fast English powers such as India and Pakistan. Especially, the pressure to ensure study, extracurricular activities sometimes make the young students feel exhausted.

The key to overcoming those depression, according to Bao, is the attitude. Thanks to standing in bright and positive perspectives, this young man was very full of capital to live here. Go where you need to go. Do what you need to do. Meet people who need to meet. And save the things of the youth!

With the openness in the New Zealand government's visa policy since the end of 2018, I believe that this country will soon become a destination for international students to have a solid stepping stone for the global career in future.
