DUE continues scientific research activities in the southern provinces

From March 28 to April 1, 2019 University of Economics-The University of Danang coordinated with other units to implement research, actual survey and organized scientific seminars in the Northern and Central provinces within the framework of Science & Technology program in the period of 2016-2020 (KX.01.20 / 16-20) in Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho City.

On March 28, University of Economics-The University of Danang cooperated with University of Economics of Ho Chi Minh City to organize the National Science Conference on "Orientations and solutions to develop advantageous economic sectors, reducing the rich-poor gap in Vietnam". The seminar with the participation of scientists from Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City is an academic forum to exchange and analyze Vietnam's economic structure in the past, especially after Vietnam signed free trade agreements. This is also an opportunity for scientists to meet, discuss and develop orientations, solutions to develop advantageous economic sectors, contributing to promoting economic reform in the country.


On March 29, the National Scientific Conference on "Identifying and developing economic sectors with advantages in the context of trade liberalization" organized by the University of Economics-The University of Danang, University of Economics - Law, National University of Ho Chi Minh City.

The workshop received 28 articles from researchers, scientists, policy makers from research units, training institutions nationwide and 24 papers were approved by the Organizing Committee. The presentations focused on many different aspects of the workshop topic: From analyzing and evaluating the international context and the trend of trade liberalization, thereby identifying opportunities and challenges for Vietnam's economy in the context of implementing free trade agreements; Analyzing competitiveness in the context of implementing free trade agreements, and forecasting the impact of free trade agreements on Vietnam's economic structure in the 2017-2025 period; Forecasting and identifying sectors with Vietnam's development advantages in the period 2017-2025 in the context of integration; Proposing orientations, roadmaps and solutions to develop economic sectors that have the advantage to accelerate the process of industrialization and modernization of the country, coupled with the reduction of differentiation between the rich and poor in the real context examining free trade agreements and deepening international economic integration, as well as experiences and successful lessons in identifying and developing advantageous economic sectors in the context of trade liberalization to be applicable to Vietnam.

In Can Tho, April 1 the University of Economics – The University Danang also collaborated with Can Tho University to organize a national science seminar "The future of free and special trade agreements, in the situation of Brexit and the withdrawal of US from Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement”.

The seminar focused on exchanging, analyzing, and evaluating the prospects of free trade agreements, focusing on new free trade agreements in the situation of Brexit and the withdrawal of US from Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement  In addition, the Seminar is a forum to discuss and listen to recommendations to build a new model for Vietnam to prosper, inclusive and sustainable growth, which may include trade liberalization, investment and services to create business opportunities in the context of fair competition.


In addition, leaders of the University of Economics also had two meetings and discussions on cooperation issues with representatives of University of Economics - Law, National University of Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho University. The meeting will lay the foundation for strategic cooperation in the fields of training, scientific research, student exchange as well as learning of mutual experiences between schools.
