Review conference of the trade union in academic year 2017 - 2018: Focus on improving employees' life

In the joyful atmosphere of the first day of school, the Trade Union of University of Economics held a review conference to summarize the trade union activities of the academic year 2017 - 2018 and deploy missions of the academic year 2018 - 2019. The conference took place in the afternoon of September 5^th with the presence of Dr. Nguyen Duc Hung - President of the Trade Union of the University of Danang, the Board of Rectors of University of Economics and all union members of the Trade Union of the University of Economics - University of Danang.

According to the summary report of trade union activities in the ac  ademic year 2017-2018, the Trade Union has taken good care of members’ life, represented and protected the legal rights, benefits of employees. The University Trade Union has also taken care of and supported many union members who were in difficult circumstances, visited and presented gifts to officials on special occasions. Besides, the trade union also contributed to the development and management of a harmonious and stable labor relationship, as well as worked as a bridge to listen to and share union members’ thoughts. In response to the patriotic emulation movement, the university trade union has implemented programs which had positive social impacts such as: Donate for people affected by floods in the Northwest and typhoon No. 10 in the Central region; visit and present gifts for students in remote areas on Tet holiday; encourage employees to respond to the peak month "For the poor"; continue to support Hoa Vang New Countryside under the direction of the Party Committee of the University of Economics; actively participate and reap high achievements in sports and artistic activities organized by the University of Danang and other external organizations... It can be said that the University Trade Union has successfully completed its missions in the academic year 2017-2018, continued to be a forum for employees to make their voices heard and jointly build the University.

In the academic year 2018 - 2019 with new challenges, the University Trade Union encouraged all officials and employees to continue to unite and strive to perform some key tasks such as: continue to implement the Resolution of the IX Trade Union Congress; well perform the function of supervision, criticism, actively participate in building a harmonious and stable labor relationship in the University; the University Trade Union and departmental trade unions actively participate in the management and organization of professional activities; research and carefully develop policies and plans for union activities in parallel with encouraging departmental trade unions to register their own activities; continue to organize and expand activities with other trade unions and organizations…

Speaking at the conference, Dr. Nguyen Duc Hung said that the Trade Union of University of Economics was one of the unions which had numerous practical and outstanding activities among unions under the University of Danang. The Trade Union of the University of Danang highly appreciated the achievements that all union members of University of Economics had accomplished last year, especially in ensuring the rights and income of employees. This was an encouraging signal for employees to continue to fulfill their professional tasks, in addition to actively responding to after-work activities. The Trade Union of the University of Danang would continue to monitor and support the activities of the Trade Union of University of Economics, continuing to well implement the Resolution of the IX Trade Union Congress.

Also, Assoc.Prof. Nguyen Manh Toan - Rector of University of Economics congratulated the results of the Trade Union in the academic year 2017-2018. The University Board of Rectors suggested the Trade Union continuing to research and carefully develop policies and plans for union activities, better performing the role of encouraging staff and lecturers to improve their capacity, innovate teaching methods, and contribute to the overall mission of the University.

Staff suggested ideas to the Orientation - Mission of the University Trade Union in the academic year 2018 - 2019.

The conference also recognized the ideas of union members contributed to the Orientation - Mission of the University Trade Union in the academic year 2018 - 2019, as well as noted thoughts and suggestions to improve the quality of staff’s life.

Under the authorization of the National Education Union of Viet Nam, Dr. Nguyen Duc Hung presented a certificate of merit to Mr. Tran Quoc Hung

In order to acknowledge the contribution of groups and individuals to the general achievement of the University Trade Union in the past year, the Conference has awarded 6 groups and 41 individuals. Under the authorization of the National Education Union of Viet Nam, Dr. Nguyen Duc Hung also awarded the Certificate of Merit to Mr. Tran Quoc Hung - Member of the Inspection Committee of the Trade Union of the University of Danang for his outstanding achievements in the inspection and supervision in the period 2013-2018.
