University of Economics will cooperate with University of Valenciennes (France) in many fields

In the afternoon of May 21, the University of Economics – University of Danang (DUE) welcomed and worked with the delegation from the University of Valenciennes (France). Welcoming the delegation were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh - Vice Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phuc Nguyen - Head of Department of Science & International Cooperation, representatives from Faculty of Business Administration, Faculty of Marketing and Faculty of E-Commerce. Representatives from University of Valenciennes were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sebastien GRONDEL - International Cooperation Manager, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thi Muoi Le - International Cooperation Manager in South East Asia, Ms. Maria GONZALEZ - International Cooperation Department and Prof. Dr. Veronique LAGAE - Department of Linguistics, Arts and Humanities.

At the beginning of the meeting, representatives from the two sides had an opportunity to learn more about the scale, structure as well as the history of the beginning and achievements of the two institutions. University of Valenciennes is a multi-disciplinary university located in the city of Valenciennes. It provides training programs by applying technology. The university was established in 1968 with 1000 teachers and 10000 students in France and other countries around the world. Wishing to connect as well as creating opportunities for training cooperation with universities in Vietnam, the representatives of University of Valenciennes hoped that the meeting will be the beginning of the strategic cooperation between the two universities.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh expressed her pleasure when welcoming the representatives of University of Valenciennes and said that she would actively support to develop this promising cooperation. Currently, lecturer and student exchange programs as well as transfer programs such as 2+2, 3+1 of DUE have been signed by many universities in the world, opening the door to study abroad for the students. DUE also wished that the University of Valenciennes will also be an ideal destination for students and lecturers to study and improve their knowledge in the future. In addition, the summer semester at DUE also provides an opportunity to experience the culture and quality of education in Vietnam for international students while strengthening the university's cooperation with partners.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sebastien GRONDEL expressed his interest in exchange programs for students, lecturers as well as summer semester and said that these were promising cooperation programs. The representatives of University of Valenciennes asked DUE to provide detailed information about these programs and will introduce it to their students.

The two sides continued to discuss sending professors from both institutions to organize seminars, enhancing academic exchange and searching for similar scholarships so that students are able to study in France. The University of Valenciennes also highly appreciated two big international conferences of DUE, consisting of ICOAF and MICA and said that they would actively send scientific papers as well as send experts to participate in the next seminars. The meeting was held successfully and the two sides will continue to discuss and soon reach a new cooperative agreement on the fields of training and exchanging students and lecturers.
