DUE Students Broaden Horizons in Thailand Through International Exchange Program

08/06/2026

As part of an international cooperation agreement between the University of Economics - The University of Danang (DUE) and King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), a delegation of DUE students participated in the “DUE & FBA KMUTNB Cultural Exchange and Knowledge Sharing 2026” program, held in Thailand from June 1 to June 12, 2026. The delegation was led by Dr. Bui Huynh Nguyen, Deputy Head of the Office of Science and International Cooperation.

This initiative forms a key element of DUE’s educational internationalization strategy, offering students opportunities to engage in a multicultural environment, enhance their global competence, and broaden their international perspectives.

During the program, DUE students took part in a Design Thinking course led by KMUTNB faculty and experts. The curriculum emphasized creative problem-solving, design-driven methodologies, and the development of innovative ideas within the context of modern business. Alongside academic sessions, students participated in group work, discussions, project development, and delivered final presentations before an academic panel.

A highlight of the program was the collaborative activities between students from both institutions. Through teamwork, academic exchange, and the sharing of experiences, participants quickly developed strong bonds and improved their communication skills in an international setting. Interactive classes provided a forum for exchanging viewpoints and jointly proposing solutions to real-world problems.

Beyond the classroom, from June 7 to 8, the delegation conducted a community survey and explored local development models in Rayong province. Of particular note, a visit to Sak Ngaew ancient market on June 6 offered students hands-on exposure to the unique cultural heritage of Thailand’s Chinese community and insights into regional cultural integration.

According to the schedule, on June 10, students attended a closing ceremony to receive certificates of program completion and participated in a field study. On June 11, the delegation traveled to Bangkok to visit Wang Lang Market and Museum Siam, gaining a deeper understanding of Thailand’s history, culture, and distinctive business models.

The DUE-KMUTNB cultural exchange and knowledge sharing program not only provided international learning opportunities, but also strengthened bilateral cooperation between the two universities. Through academic activities, real-world experiences, and community engagement, participating students were equipped with global adaptability, innovative thinking, and the skills necessary to thrive in multicultural environments.

The experiences gained in Thailand are expected to serve as a vital foundation, empowering DUE students to pursue their studies, research, and professional development with confidence amid the growing trends of international integration.
