Civil Servants and Employees Conference for the 2024 - 2025 Academic Year: Enhancing the University’s Position Towards the 50th Anniversary of the University of Economics

On the morning of December 7, the University of Economics organized the Civil Servants and Employees Conference for the 2024 – 2025 academic year. The conference was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, Member of the Party Committee and Director of the University of Danang; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Phuc, Vice Chairman of the University of Danang’s Council and Chairman of the University of Danang’s Trade Union, along with leaders of political and social organizations, the university office, and functional departments of the University of Danang. The conference also welcomed Prof. Dr. Truong Ba Thanh, former Deputy Director of the University of Danang and former Rector of the University of Economics. On the University of Economics side, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairwoman of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Huy, Rector; Dr. Huynh Thi Hong Hanh, Vice Rector and Chairwoman of the University’s Trade Union; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh, Vice Rector; along with leaders of departments, faculties, centers, and representatives of university staff attended the event.

At the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Huy presented the results of the 2023 – 2024 academic year’s tasks and the Rector’s responsibilities in performing them. According to the report, despite facing many challenges, the staff and employees of the University of Economics continued to demonstrate solidarity and strive to achieve remarkable results across various fields: Continuing to nurture the tradition of solidarity within the leadership and among all staff members built over the university’s history; Prioritizing the development of faculty and staff, which remains one of the key focuses of the university’s strategic development; Adapting and flexibly handling student recruitment in the competitive economics field; Improving education through advanced technology applications in teaching; Advancing research and international cooperation, business relationships, and innovation-driven startups; Actively implementing quality accreditation for training programs, with 16 programs already accredited according to national and international standards; Enhancing infrastructure and equipment to support teaching quality improvements; Promoting political and ideological education for students; Organizing meaningful social responsibility programs by the Trade Union, Students Union, and Youth Union; and Focusing on sustainable financial development.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh reported on the activities of the University Council in 2024. The conference also reviewed the implementation of the resolutions from the 2023 – 2024 Civil Servants and Employees Conference, the results of democratic processes at the university, the inspection work during the academic year, and the university’s financial report for 2023.

Delegates presented reports on inspection work for the 2023 – 2024 academic year and the university’s financial status in 2023.

In his speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu praised the university's achievements in the past academic year, particularly in enhancing the reputation and brand of the University of Economics and improving the living standards of the staff and employees, especially in student recruitment with excellent results. Based on these accomplishments, the University of Danang expects the university's staff to continue their solidarity, unity, and strive for even greater achievements. The university’s leadership is committed to implementing sound strategies to elevate the institution's position. Staff development is considered a priority, with plans to increase the number of professors and associate professors, improve the quality of undergraduate and postgraduate training programs, and integrate digital transformation. The university will also expand international partnerships, including with enterprises and high schools in Da Nang and neighboring provinces, and explore innovations in management and university governance suited to the context of university autonomy. The university is committed to building a strong image and organizing meaningful activities in celebration of its 50th anniversary.

At the conference, the Presidium responded to and discussed the issues raised by the staff representatives. The Presidium thoroughly explained and addressed the concerns of the university's employees.

Delegates voted to elect the University of Economics’ 2024 – 2026 People’s Inspection Committee.

During the session, delegates voted on the targets for the academic year 2024 – 2025 and passed the conference resolution. To achieve these goals, representatives of the University’s Board of Management and the Trade Union signed a commitment to the 2024 – 2025 academic year’s performance agreement. With a democratic spirit and strong consensus, the Civil Servants and Employees Conference for the 2024 – 2025 academic year was successfully concluded.
