CALL FOR PAPERS
University of Economics - The University of Danang (UE-UD, Vietnam), Institute of Global Finance at the University of New South Wales (Australia), Massey University (NZ), and Aston University, in collaboration with ACCA-Vietnam, are organizing the 4th International Conference on Accounting and Finance (ICOAF-2018), to be held in Da Nang City, Vietnam, on June 07-08, 2018.
As a result of UE-UD’s close collaboration with international partners, the ICOAF-2018 brings together the world-leading experts in accounting, finance, and related fields, serving as a unique point of convergence in South East Asia for researchers, practitioners and policymakers to meet, share, and exchange their ideas. Keynote Speaker
Professor Avanidhar (Subra) Subrahmanyam, Distinguished Professor of Finance, Goldyne and Irwin Hearsh Chair in Money and Banking at the University of California Los Angeles - Anderson School of Management (USA). Professor Subra is an expert in stock market activity and behavioral finance. He is known for his pathbreaking research in the use of psychological principles to explain stock price movements and has published numerous articles in leading peer-reviewed finance and economics journals. Appearing frequently in the media, Professor Subra is consulted for his expertise on the superior performance of value stocks and the phenomenon of stock market momentum to analyze spikes in gasoline prices, herd-like behavior around Apple stock, uncertainty in everyday use of the bitcoin crypto-currency and the effects of war on the stock market. Professor Subra’s current research interests range from the relationship between the trading environment of a firm’s stock and the firm’s cost of capital to behavioral theories for asset price behavior and empirical determinants of the cross-section of equity returns. A founding editor of the Journal of Financial Markets, Professor Subra previously served as associate editor of the Review of Financial Studies and the Journal of Finance. He is a member of the National Bureau of Economic Research’s Working Research Group on Market Microstructure. Professor Subra has served as a consultant to the Nasdaq Stock Market, the National Stock Exchange in Mumbai, India, San Jose Mercury News and Irwin/McGraw-Hill. He is a UCLA Anderson Inspirational 100 alumnus.

Professor Mingyi Hung, Chair Professor, Fung Term Professor of Accounting, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Hong Kong). Professor Hung has served as the editor of The Accounting Review, and editorial board member of a number of top-tier journals in Business and Accounting, such as Journal of International Business Studies and Journal of International Accounting Research. She has published numerous articles in leading peer-reviewed accounting and international business journals, including Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Review of Accounting Studies, Journal of Accounting Research, The Accounting Review, and Journal of Corporate Finance.
Professor Nuttawat Visaltanachoti, Professor of Finance and Dean’s Chair in Finance at Massey University (NZ). His works have been published in top-tier finance journals, including Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial Markets, Journal of Banking and Finance, and a large number of ISI-covered journals.

All submissions must be in Word or PDF format, and be sent electronically at the website of the conference (http://icoaf.due.edu.vn). Submitted manuscripts will be peer-reviewed. The conference scientific program will be available by May 25th, 2018.
Best Paper Awards
All papers will be considered for the Best Paper Award in Finance, and in Accounting.
Special Sessions
In order to enhance the exchange of ideas between academics, practitioners, and policymakers, the conference will include special panel discussions on Vietnam and emerging markets. Speakers are established experts in the field, with diverse backgrounds in academia, industry, and policy. Specifically, the ICOAF-2018 welcomes Professor Carolyn Cordery from the Department of Accounting (Aston University) as our special guest speaker presenting on a topic of not-for-profit organisations’ accounting and accountability. Furthermore, to promote the study of Vietnam financial markets in general, conference organizers extend special invitation to researchers who conduct research on Vietnam and emerging markets.

Standard Fee: US$250
Students: US$150
Registration fee includes the abstract book, the conference proceeding CD, and other conference materials. It also includes welcome reception, coffee breaks, lunches, and a gala dinner during the conference. Accommodation is not included.
