    University of Economics - The University of Danang (Vietnam), University of New South Wales (Australia), Cork Institute of Technology (Ireland), National Economics University (Vietnam), University of Finance - Marketing (Vietnam) in collaboration with Danang Young Entrepreneurs Association (Vietnam), are organizing the 2nd International Conference on Marketing in the Connected Age (MICA-2018), to be held on October 06th 2018 in Da Nang City, Vietnam.

    As a result of UE-UD’s close collaboration with international partners, MICA-2018 brings together the experts in Marketing and related fields, serving as a unique point of convergence in South East Asia for researchers, practitioners and policymakers to meet, share, and exchange their ideas. The theme of MICA-2018 is Marketing and New Wave of Technology. MICA-2018 aims to explore the future of marketing, especially fundamental changes as well as opportunities and challenges arising from new waves of technology that have been taking place in this decade, and its prospects for enterprises.

    Topics

    The Organizing Committee would like to invite you to be a part of the MICA-2018 and submit your research papers for presentation consideration. The conference welcomes submissions in all areas of Marketing, of both theoretical and empirical natures (English only). Topics that the conference encourages to exchange and discuss include (but are not limited to):

    + Changes in approaches to market in the presence of new technologies such as value co-creation, cooperative competition, public consumption, and social media.

    + Changes in consumer behavior in Vietnam and the world among current waves of technology such as millennial generation, new social movements, and new consumer trends.

    + Challenges for marketing activities of Vietnamese and international enterprises while facing new waves of technology.

    + Marketing and business models based on potential technologies in Vietnam and the world.

    + Opportunities and challenges for training and providing marketing services in the new context.

    + Application of new technology in marketing data collection and processing.

    Keynote Speaker

    Associate Professor Liem Viet Ngo, UNSW Business School, University of New South Wales. Professor Liem’s research focuses on resources and capabilities management in relation to marketing, innovation, and entrepreneurship in cross-cultural contexts with particular focus on the Asia-Pacific region. He is currently leading several projects on customer engagement, interdependency between brand and innovation management, mindfulness at work, mindful marketing, integrating skunk works and innovative individuals for radical innovation, innovations in business models and temporary advantages, and entrepreneurship in emerging economies. Professor Liem’s teaching interests revolve around brand management, digital marketing, and marketing communication and promotion. Professor Liem has published in the Journal of Product Innovation Management, British Journal of Management, Industrial Marketing Management, European Journal of Marketing, Psychology & Marketing, Journal of Marketing Management, Journal of Strategic Marketing, Journal of Services Marketing, Australian Journal of Management, Journal of Business Research, among others. He currently serves on the Editorial Review Board of Industrial Marketing Management and Asia Pacific Journal of Marketing & Logistics. He is recently appointed as the Incoming Editor-in-Chief of Australasian Marketing Journal.

    Key Dates

    June 30th, 2018         : Full paper submission

    July 01st, 2018          : Notification of acceptance/rejection

    August 05th, 2018     : Registration deadline

    October 06th, 2018   : Conference event

    All submissions must be in Word format, and be sent electronically at the website of the conference. Submitted manuscripts will be peer-reviewed. The conference scientific program will be available by September 28th, 2018.

    Special Session

    In order to enhance the exchange of ideas between academics, practitioners, and policymakers, the conference will include special panel discussions on Vietnam and emerging markets. Speakers are established experts in the field, with diverse backgrounds in academia, industry, and policy. Furthermore, to promote an innovative marketing teaching and learning environment, MICA-2018 extends a special invitation to researchers who conduct research on marketing education.

    Registration

    Standard Fee                         : 1,000,000 VND

    PhD students                         : 500,000 VND

    Registration fee includes the abstract book, the conference proceedings CD with ISBN number, and other conference materials. It also includes welcome reception and coffee breaks during the conference. Accommodation is not included.
