SPECIAL SESSION ON SUSTAINABLE FINANCE
Sustainable finance holds significance for Vietnam as the country, with its rapid economic growth and industrialization, faces a multitude of challenges related to environmental degradation and climate change. As global initiatives like the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) and the pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) take center stage, integrating sustainable finance practices becomes crucial for long-term resilience and inclusive growth. Vietnam’s commitment aligns with the imperative to balance economic development with environmental and social responsibility, positioning the country as a regional leader in sustainable finance and contributing to global sustainability goals. The adoption of sustainable finance principles ensures that economic progress is not only robust but also environmentally sustainable and socially equitable.
The special session on sustainable finance at ICOAF-2024, organized in collaboration with The University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and VNU University of Economics and Business (UEB), provides a platform for in-depth exploration, dialogue, and recognize the importance of ensuring that sustainable finance practices are accessible and relevant to all stakeholders, fostering a more inclusive and impactful conversation. The Special session invites submissions in both Vietnamese and English from academics, practitioners, and policymakers, emphasizing the following topics (but not limited to):
- Green and sustainable finance
- The impact of climate and sustainable governance on corporate policies
- Innovations in environmental practices
