The University of Hull was founded in 1927 – originally as University College Hull. The University of Hull is a public research university in Kingston upon Hull, a city in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The University now has more than 16,000 students and around 2,500 employees, including more than 1,000 academic staff.
The University of Hull has been changing the way people think for 90 years. Their motto, Lampada Ferens, translates as ‘carrying the light of learning’, and over the years, they’ve shared that light with thousands of people from across the world. As England’s 14th-oldest university, the University of Hull has a proud heritage of academic excellence, and a history of creating and inspiring life-changing research.

Hull ranked one of the top universities for graduate employment. The University offers students a variety of ways to boost their CV and develop their work experience.
The University of Hull is one of the best in the country according to a Department of Education report recognising the high proportion of its graduates in sustained employment or further study five years after graduation.
Hull has been ranked second in the Government report putting it above more than 100 other English universities in the study.
The University also ranked highly for its proportion of law graduates in work or further study five years after graduation. Ranked in fifth place, the University credits employability initiatives which ensure that our graduates are well-prepared for the world of work.
The University of Hull also picked up an Outstanding Administrative Services Team trophy at Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards 2017 (THELMAS).
