OVERVIEW OF THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE (ICOAF 2021)

Following the success of five consecutive seminars from 2015 to 2019, on the morning of June 11, 2021, the 6th International Conference on Accounting and Finance (ICOAF-2021) was officially held online via Zoom at the University of Economics, UD. The ICOAF 2021 conference is jointly organized by the University of Economics, UD, the Institute of Global Finance (IGF) at the University of New South Wales (Australia), and Aston University (United Kingdom).

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh – Vice-Chancellor of the University of Economics, UD said: “The ICOAF-2021 seminar aims to bring together researchers, students, and graduate students to exchange and share experiences and ideas and research results on issues of accounting and finance. At the same time, we discuss practical challenges encountered and propose solutions. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh emphasized: "Although the ICOAF-2021 seminar is held online, it is hoped that it will be able to connect and create new connections between speakers and scholars".

This year, the conference received a total of 60 papers from domestic and foreign scientists and lecturers. With the theme "Accounting, Finance, and Vietnam's economic transformation", this year's conference brings together the world's leading experts in accounting and finance-related fields, acting as the only convergence point in South East Asia for researchers, practitioners and policymakers to meet, share and exchange ideas. The seminar was honored to have the participation and presentation of research work of 02 leading speakers in the field of finance - accounting, including Professor Jonathan Batten, Professor of Finance at RMIT University; Professor Cameron Truong, Professor of Accounting at Monash University.

Right after the opening session, the workshop kicked off with a presentation by speaker Jonathan Batten with the theme: "The challenge of meeting sustainable development goals (SDG) while fostering green finance". After that, the workshop was divided into several sessions of presentations and lively discussions around the field of accounting and finance in many different countries such as FinTech community development in the 4.0 era, the independence of the stock market, green finance, the influence of finance and financial technology on monetary policy...

The conference attracts many scholars from all over the world

 Discussions collected at the conference will contribute to helping delegates grasp world industry trends, apply them to research and propose solutions in Vietnam, and at the same time help lecturers apply them to the field, equip learners with new and practical knowledge. ICOAF 2021 is also a basis to nurture a global network of researchers in the field of Finance - Accounting in Vietnam and strengthen cooperation in research on finance - accounting in Vietnam.

After six times being organized, ICOAF has gradually become a prestigious international conference in the field of finance - accounting and a forum for researchers, practitioners and policymakers to meet, share and exchange ideas on related topics.
