Many students of University of Economics – The University of Danang “have drawn” the path to Nam Giang District (Quang Nam), helping local people develop tourism.

DUE’s team of Local Tourism Development discovering the potentials of Grang Waterfall

When wandering throughout the villages of Co Tu, Ve, Ta Rieng… ethnic groups, “There are many paths and many moments covered by the sunshine everywhere seems to be at peace…” Phuong Hong Bao, a third-year student of Faculty of Political Economics, member of Developing Nam Giang Tourism Map unit, said.

The unit “drew” a journey to discover Nam Giang with the main direction from Danang to Nam Giang Border Gate, through the epic greenery path called “Valley of the Sun.”

Following this direction, travelers will be provided with details about service points by their itinerary, including phone-numbers of hotels/hostels, restaurants, medical stations, filling stations, community house, repairing services, places of interest… and ATM. Especially, the map also has detailed information about places of interest, traveling tips and opportunities to enjoy local specialties.

Phuong Hong Bao, in charge of communication of Nam Giang Tourism Development team, shares that the road from QL14B to Nam Giang Border Gate is a greenery road with many curves covered by clouds. It takes about 1,5 hours to drive from the center of Ta Poo Ward to Nam Giang Border. Along the road are plenty of green trees and beautiful landscapes…

Devotion to the job

Lam Hoang Thang, a student of Faculty of International Business, told stories about their journey to create and develop a tourism website meeting the criteria of being the most impressive, most modern and having a link to the official website of authorities of Nam Giang District. The students also donated 1.500.000VND to purchase a domain and then develop the applications on the website.

According to Thang, the biggest challenges is to protect the website from hackers and unfair competition. Then it is essential to develop a modern, lively and attractive website to increase the number of followers. “To achieve this goal, the pictures and applications have to attractive and professional. The videos and pictures made by students have to well-prepared, modern and professional”, Thang said.

Phuong Hong Bao said that to transfer the products to local authorities before the end of Green Summer, they had to “run” against the deadline. Even some of them could only sleep 1-2 hours a day. The student's updated destinations for travelers such as experience Song Bung 4 Hydroelectric power Lake “The huge mirror among the valley” or discover Grang Waterfall “The girl hidden among thousands of mountains of Truong Son,” Traditional Silk Village Xo Ra “The place where Co Tu people weave their culture”… There is also information about harvesting festival, dances, and local specialties such as “Sung Trau” bread, Ta Vat wine, Nam Giang Lam Rice, and bamboo-grilled dishes…

“After transferring this project to Nam Giang District, we will still keep in contact with the authorities to develop the interface, update more videos and pictures so that the website can get more effective. Especially, we will support local authorities to exploit the applications, how to write more attractive posts and share comments, how to make more lively pictures and videos…”, Bao said.

“The works of these students are professional and impressive, more than our expectation and these are what we need. Importantly, we appreciate the suggestions such as: conducting training courses and issuing certificates for local people in charge of transferring passengers, building a ferry for tourists, improving services, exploiting the potentials of local landmarks…”, Secretary of HoChiMinh Communist Youth Union of Nam Giang District, A Lang Truong said.
