New landmark in the cooperation between DUE and Japanese universities

From 17 – 25/6, a group from University of Economics, including Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Manh Toan – Rector of DUE, Assoc. Prof. Vo Thi Thuy Anh – Vice-rector of DUE, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phuc Nguyen – Head of Department of Research and International Relations Re, MSc. Phan Kim Tuan – Head of Department of Personnel and Administrative Affairs, Ph.D. Huynh Thi Hong Hanh – Head of Department of Educational Testing and Quality Assurance and Ph.D. Huynh Thi Dieu Linh – Faculty of International Business, paid a visit to Japanese Universities in partnership with DUE.


Meeting with The University of Kyoto

Thank the support and network of Prof. Junichi Mori – Former Vice-director of The University of Kyoto, the group of DUE, could conduct meetings with the Board of Directors of The University of Kyoto and deans of faculties to discuss the guideline of co-operation between two universities. In particular, in the meeting with Prof. Kayo Inaba – Vice-director for international co-operation of The University of Kyoto, the presentative of two universities already agreed to increase the co-operation, based on the agreement between The University of Kyoto and The University of Danang in 2014. The presentative of The University of Kyoto would be glad to welcome exchange students from University of Economics with a fully-funded scholarship for one year. This is a new landmark in the co-operation between two universities, offering more opportunities for lecturers and students of DUE to study in The University of Kyoto. As for the co-operation in scientific researches, University of Economics invited The University of Kyoto to become a co-organizer of International Conference on Accounting and Finance ICOAF 2019. Prof. Kayo Inaba was excited about this invitation from DUE and hoped to co-organize a reputed conference like ICOAF – a forum for sharing knowledge among worldwide scholars.

The University of Economics also discussed on the guideline of co-operation, in fields of educating, scientific researches, lecturers, students exchange, with Prof. Masahiko Egami – Dean of Faculty of Economics – The University of Kyoto. The two sides will continue to discuss and aim to a comprehensive agreement in the future.

During the business trip in Japan, DUE also had a meeting with Prof. Yoko Hayami – Director of The Center for Southeast Asian Studies to discuss the co-operation in fields of economy, management, and finance. The Center would support DUE to develop a scientific journal based on international standards and welcome scholars from DUE to work and research at the center. Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Manh Toan also introduced about an international conference of DUE such as ICOAF, MICA… and invited scholars of the Center to the Conference.

On 21/6, DUE also had an important meeting with The University of Kobe. In the meeting, Prof. Mizutani Fumitoshi – Vice-director of The University of Kobe (in charge of education), discussed with DUE about exchange programs for students and lecturers, 2+2, 3+1 undergraduate programs, and post-graduate programs. Moreover, The University of Danang and The University of Kobe already signed a co-operation agreement on educating, scientific researches, exchange programs in 2013. This agreement is the foundation and launching pad for the relationship between University of Economics – The University of Danang and The University of Kobe.

DUE met with Faculty of Business Administration – The University of Kobe

To clarify the viewpoints in co-operation with The University of Kobe, the presentative of the University of Economics had an in-depth discussion with Prof. Chen Kuang-hui – Dean of Faculty of post-graduate international studies, Prof. Nakamura Tamotsu – Dean of Faculty of Economics and Prof. Norio Kambayashi – Dean of Faculty of Business Administration. DUE also invited scholars and professors of The University of Kobe to take part in international conferences, co-organize seminars, and workshops to intensify sharing of scientific knowledge and connect lecturers, students between the two universities. Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Manh Toan introduced about summer-term program and exchange program which will be the opportunities for students of the University of Kobe to study in Vietnam and experience Vietnamese education environment and culture.

Meeting with Faculty of Economics – The University of Kobe

At the University of Senshu in Tokyo, University of Economics also had some talks and discussion with Prof. Shigeto Sasaki – Rector of the University of Senshu, about co-operation in educating, scientific researches, organizing international conference and students exchange programs. Prof. Shigeto Sasaki agreed with the suggestions of DUE and hoped that DUE would be an important partnership of the University of Senshu in Vietnam. The presentative of DUE also had a detailed discussion with Prof. Yano Takashi – an expert in the CGE model, about economics studies.

The business trip to Japan of the University of Economics was a great success with many important agreements. These agreements are the new landmark in enhancing the co-operation in many aspects between the University of Economics and Japanese Universities.
