Having spent the cold winter in the city of Gelsenkirchen (Germany), student Lam Thuy Nga (class 40K01.CLC - Faculty of Commerce) seems to be warmed by the Award “Star of January" 2017. Receiving the good news from Vietnam, Nga said: "I feel a little regret that I cannot return to Vietnam to receive the award, but very happy and proud as representative of DUE was able to be honored at a great prize as "Star of January".
With first - class academic results, excellent performance in Youth Union, Lam Thuy Nga has been a prominent student of the University of Economics - University of Da Nang during the past period of time. Currently, Nga is the member of Secretariat of the Vietnamese Student's Association, the member of Board of Director of Economic Youth Club. Nga shared that she felt stressed to try balancing her studies and extracurricular activities because of illogical time allocation as well as no scientific learning method. Since then, instead of self - studying, she tried to focus on acquiring knowledge, discussing with friends and lecturers in class, read more books, materials at home. As a result, she reaped many achievements in Youth Union's activities and is the fantabulous student with the GPA of 3.82/4.0. She also has got Erasmus+ scholarship to short-term exchange at Westphalian University of Applied Science (Germany).

Having a passion for the Youth Union has helped Nga successfully fulfill her role as one of the leaders of the Student Union of University of Economics. She told that "Union's activities have helped me to be trained a lot of skills such as leadership skills, teamwork skills, presentation skills ... That makes me grow up over the years". As we asked Nga about DUE Youth Union that has been considered her second family, she expressed her deeply interests: "Having a chance to participate and live in the dynamic environment as DUE Youth Union is the best experience in my life. Besides, I am proud to be a part of DUE Youth".
To advice gently to the younger students passionate about Union's activities, Thuy Nga shared her favourite maxim: "Stay hungry, stay foolish". "Do not think that participating in Union's activities is wasting your time and negatively affecting your academic results, it will train you the skills and knowledge much better than you expected. I hope you will have beautiful and precious experiences at University of Economics", shared by Nga.
* "Star of January" is the highest award of the Vietnam Student Association for the staff of the Association, the Union has excellent achievements in extracurricular activities and studies, organized by Vietnam Student Association and Vietnam Student Newspaper.
