The 35th anniversary of Vietnamese Teacher’s day: Building new achievements, bringing the fame to UE-UD’s brand

On 20th November 2017, University of Economics - The University of Danang (UE - UD) formally celebrated the 35th Anniversary of Vietnamese Teacher’s Day (20/11/1982 - 20/11/2017). Attending the event were Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam - Director of the University of Danang, representative of leaders of socio-political organizations, offices and functional departments of the University of Danang; Board of Rectors, Deans of Faculties, Head of Departments, Director of Centers, generations of former teachers, alumni and officers, lecturers, students of UE - UD.

On behalf of Board of Rectors, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan summarized the accomplishments teachers and students of UE - UD have made in the school year 2016 - 2017. Outstanding achievements in improving the quality of education and training; successful admitting new students in the context of many difficulties; continuing to expand the international co-operation relationships and the efforts of lecturers and students in scientific research have affirmed the position and reputation of UE - UD ... Especially in the context when UE - UD, the university member of the region University, is implementing the pilot scheme of university autonomy, the university’s staff have overcome many difficulties as well as challenges, united and agreed together in order to well fulfill the tasks set out. On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan presented a sincere thanks and wish good health to the generation of former staff and the staff who have been working at the University.

University of Economics honored 4 new PhDs
At the ceremony, the University also honored and congratulated the 4 new PhDs who have been working at university. The increasing academic level of lecturers has demonstrated the university’s concerted efforts on improving the professionalism of lectures, confirmed the university’s commitment about high quality human resource to meet the teaching requirements and learners' needs in cultivating people.

On this occasion, on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Training, Director of the University of Da Nang awarded Medal of Honor for Geat contibutions to Education Career to 3 individuals, awarded The title of Emulation Fighter at ministry level to 4 individuals, awarded Certificates of Merit by the Minister of Education and Training to 2 teams and 4 individuals for their outstanding achievements awarded Certificate of Merit of the University of Danang to 3 teams and 13 individuals of the University. In addition, the Rector of University of Economics also rewarded 2 teams and 30 individuals with outstanding achievements in the 2016-2017 school l year.
The school also held meeting with teachers and former teachers to say gratitude to generations who have overcome the difficult periods to build and develop the University to become the leading higher education institution. In addition, the faculties in the university also organized many activities to celebrate the anniversary.
