Training course of module assessment and test bank construction for lectures of UE-UD

On November the 11th, 2017,  Danang University of Economics – the University of Da Nang held a training course "Assessing modules and constructing test banks". This is part of a series of training sessions designed to serve the University's AUN accreditation. The training was conducted under the direction of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Thanh Viet - Department Head of Educational Quality Assurance, the University of Da Nang. The training program focused on two major objectives:  analysis of the "constructive alignment" principle and  methods of evaluation and at the same time, building the methods for teaching, testing and assessing to meet the module outcome standards.

Speaking at the training session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan - Rector of University of Economics highlighted the importance of successful AUN accreditation for 5 majors in the coming time. The training is of great significance in enhancing the lecturers' skills in module assessment and test bank construction.
The training took place in two sessions. During the first one, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Thanh Viet presented  criteria for module assessment;  method for setting the assessment standards;  method for setting the course outcome and assessment standards in accordance with  outcome standards; and  method for constructing efficient test banks.

During the practice session, each group of lecturers (by departments) were to construct module assessment standards for a subject. The Marketing Faculty represented all the lecturers to present the construction of module assessment standards for a particular subject. The presentation mainly focused on designing the appropriate outcome standards, arranging the outcome standards based on the Bloom's Taxonomy, and designing the tests as well as class activities in accordance with the outcome standards.
At the end of the training, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Thanh Viet affirmed  the importance of mastering the methodology of testing and assessing in accordance with the outcome standards. He also thanked the University for inviting him to give the lecture at the training and wished the AUN accreditation of the University a great success.
