Economics students win the prize at the 18th Euréka Award - 2016

Recently, representatives of the University of Economics - University of Da Nang have participated in the 18th Students Doing Research Award – Euréka held in Ho Chi Minh City from 8 to 11 December 2016. Passing over 427 subjects in the same field, the research subject of University of Economics is one of the 13 economic aspects coming to the final round and has won the Consolation Prize.

Euréka 2016 includes 11 areas: economics, engineering, humanities, education, information technology, planning - architecture-construction, administration-environmental resources, agriculture-forestry-fishery, biotechnology-biomedical. Many subjects have both scientific and practical values. A number of research projects about prominent issues, Vietnamese people's diplomacy in the struggle for sea protection, and the elaboration of socio-economic development plans of localities.

University of Economics - University of Danang participated in the final round with the theme: "Country Brand Equity (CBE): the approach is based on consumers in Vietnam in the field of fast food restaurant services" made by group of students including Ho Thi Thanh Hien, Le Truc Kieu and Hoang Thi Phuong Thao. Talking about this theme, Hoang Phuong Thao (Faculty of Commerce) said: "This subject has been invested and researched carefully. Unlike many subjects in the field of theoretical economics, our topic focuses on practical applicability, meeting the demands of businesses as well as consumers. This Euréka Award is an opportunity for us to communicate and exchange with students of other universities throughout the country, not only in the field of economics but also in many different fields."

At the awards night, the organizing committee honored 85 outstanding projects including 09 First Prizes, 12 Second Prizes, 13 Third Prizes and 51 Consolation Prizes.

The Euréka Student Doing Research Award is a noble prize for students being interested in scientific research across the country, it also contributes to promoting the scientific research movement of students organized by the Council of Ho Chi Minh City in collaboration with Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM). This year, the Prize is extended to students across the country for the first time. It is also an interesting point for young scientists to get acquainted with many new friends sharing the passion for scientific research, gradually building a community for young scientists all over the country. To increase the connection and exchanges between students nationwide to attend the Prize, organizer also arranged trips to the typical places of Ho Chi Minh City such as Sabeco Brewery, Historic zone of Cu Chi Tunnels.
