University of Economics - The University of Danang is one of five universities in Vietnam sponsored by USAID in USAID COMET program

University of Economics, the University of Danang honorly became one of five uninversities in Vietnam receiving sponsor from the United State Agency for International Development in the USAID COMET program together with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, the University of Danang, Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Hue Industrial College.


From March 25th to April 1st, 2016, the group of lecturers from University of Economics, the University of Danang including Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh, Dr. Hoang Thi Thanh Ha, Dr. Duong Nguyen Hung, Dr. Nguyen Huu Cuong, Dr. Vo Thi Quynh Nga will participate in The first leadership and teacher development summit by USAID COMET. This is a part of the USAID Connecting the Mekong through Education and Training program. The summit cum training course has the participation of 12 universities and colleges including Vietnam (5 universities), Thailand (2 universities), Campodia (2 universities), Lao (2 universities) and Myanmar (1 university).

The summit is aimed to bring MekongSkills2Work approach to universities and colleges sponsored by the program, stating clearly the expectation of administrators and lecturers. At the summit, 12 universities and colleges signed the agreement in mutual assistance to reach a goal of developing labor force through a creative teaching and learning process and connection with businesses. Two-day summit is followed by five-day extensive training course about “MekongSkills2Work toolkit” for administrators and lecturers.

USAID COMET assists Vietnam in innovating higher education to train the generation of graduates who possess necessary skills to compete in global market. The best way for students to acquire these skills is through practical experience. This program will connect with such partners as Cisco, Intel, Google and Microsoft as well as local businesses to bring students opportunities to learn from the professional entrepreneurs/ leaders.

It is a great honor for lecturers and students of University of Economics to be sponsored by the USAID to improve training quality and achieve international education standards. With 40 years of training, dedication of lecturers, students and support from international organisations, the University of Economics expects the generation of students to possess necessary qualities and skills to join the high quality labor market, contributing to the economic development of the country.
