UE-UD’s delegates participate Innovation Week at Cork Institute of Technology (Ireland)

Ireland, the shamrock land welcomed the delegates of University of Economics (UE-UD) by a distinct weather and a typical picture of modern and ancient Europe in Cork. Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) was also different from normal days by the artwork by students along the corridor mixed with lively posters of candidates running for key positions in the student union.

UE-UD delegates had  very busy working days at CIT.  They were so lucky to attend a series of activities of Innovation Week which attracted a lot of investors as well as start-up experts coming from all over Ireland. The week began with  exhibitions and the award ceremony of the program ‘New Frontier’. Twelve start-ups were selected from all sectors (food, technology, music, education, etc.) from the program. Jumble Company, the startup found by Emmet Kearney with data security solutions through email has passed top 5 start-up to be awarded as the winner.

CIT is currently the partner of UE-UD in the entrepreneurship VIBE project sponsored by Irish Aid. CIT operates a number of successful programmers in Entrepreneurship and is one of the leading institutes in Ireland in terms of provision of incubator supports and provision of student start-up experience. The Rubicon Centre at CIT is one of Ireland’s most successful on campus incubators, delivering over 2000 jobs to the Irish economy since its establishment over ten years ago. For the last five years CIT has successfully operated the Student Inc program, using its experience in delivery of New Frontiers, Pinc, and Exxcel programmes (www.rubiconcentre.ie). The Hincks Centre for Entrepreneurship Excellence is also based in CIT’s School of Business, and collaborates with the Rubicon Centre to deliver accredited training in entrepreneurship.

In the VIBE project, CIT will support UE-UD  by delivering “Train the Trainers Workshop ” to UE-UD's staff in March 2016. Irish experts also help to give support students registered for Danang Startup Runway 2016 through a series of workshop planned for March 2016.

With the extensive support from CIT, UE-UD hopes to increasingly build their prestige in the international cooperation as well as the start-up community in Danang and Vietnam.
