Meeting with Heriot-Watt University (UK) about joint training programs between two universities

On 9th March, the delegation from Heriot-Watt University (HW) headed by Prof. Kevin O’Gormon- Head of the Business Management Faculty, Head of the International Relation Department had a meeting with UE-UD representatives headed by  Assoc. Prof. Vo Thi Thuy Anh- Vice Rector.

Following up the first meeting between two parties in July 2015, two universities continued to work on details relating to potential collaboration in teaching and research.

With respect to teaching, HW was very interested in the High-Quality programs of UE-UD, especially the advantages of this program compared to regular programs.  Accordingly, students when enrolled in these programs not only study in best  facilities, by best lecturers, but also do they get extensively supports to improve their English communication skills with more than 25% contents of the program are taught in English. Students have also opportunities to be transferred and have degree at UD-UD’s partners as Keuka College (US), Towson University (US), Sunderland University (UK), Hull University (UK)… Upon their graduation, High Quality Program students have also received good responses from many employers.


Both sides discussed the transfer programs in the formats of 2+2, 3+1 for students. Accordingly, HW will make way for UE-UD’s students to access their international education environment in the most cost-effective way by studying at their campuses at Scotland, Dubai and Malaysia. Moreover, when studying there, students will be put into groups with local and international students to maximize the socialization and culture exchange.

With respect to research, UE-UD invited HW to participate the international conferences hosted by the university the upcoming May, June, August and October. In addition, both parties discussed other details about International Summer School- a program emphasizing on cultural exchanges between students from different countries.
