Signing a cooperation agreement, the University of Economics supports Hoa Vang district in developing the local economy, society, and preserving the local culture and history

"With the signed cooperation agreement, Hoa Vang district hopes to cooperate with the University of Economics effectively leverage the district's potential and drive strong economic and social development closely tied to the local history and culture in the coming time," said Comrade To Van Hung, member of the Party Committee and Secretary of the district Party Committee, at the signing ceremony between Hoa Vang district and the University of Economics - University of  Da Nang on the afternoon of May 17.

The signing ceremony was attended by Comrade Le Trung Thang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of the district; Comrade Phan Van Ton, Deputy Secretary of the district Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of the district; Comrade Bui Nam Dung, Head of the District Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Board and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, along with representatives of the District Party Committee's Office, the District People's Committee's Office, and leaders of departments under the District People's Committee of Hoa Vang.

Representing the University of Economics were the representatives of the Executive Board: Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan - Rector of the University, Associate Professor Dr. Le Van Huy - Vice Rector of the University, Dr. Huynh Thi Hong Hanh - Vice Rector of the University, representatives of departments, centers, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union, and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Secretary of the University.

From 2013 to 2020, the University of Economics has consistently supported and collaborated with Hoa Vang district in the process of building the new rural areas. Specifically, in the areas of communication, training, and education, the University has provided training on entrepreneurship and job-seeking skills for 250 young people in the district, organized training classes on community tourism and chief accountant training for district accountants. In terms of scientific research and information technology application, the University has provided guidance on graphic design and communication skills, training in image design management, and website reporting. They have also supported 10 used computers for Hoa Ninh primary school. In social welfare work, the University has conducted scientific research on "Ensuring livelihoods for households affected by compensation and resettlement," completed repairs and housing for households in difficult circumstances with a budget of 43 million VND and awarded scholarships to the children of poor veterans in the district. Regarding youth activities, the Youth Union has effectively organized the "Summer Voluntary" campaign in Dong Lam village, Hoa Phu commune, distributed gifts to poor students, and organized cultural exchanges, etc.

Assessing the overall results of cooperation from 2013 to 2020, Comrade To Van Hung stated that the support of the University of Economics has been a driving force for the people of Hoa Vang district to achieve the goal of building new rural areas. In the new phase with new goals and approaches, the Secretary of the district Party Committee believes that Hoa Vang district and the University of Economics will maximize the potential of both sides, bringing rapid and sustainable development to the district in various fields. Comrade To Van Hung proposed some areas of cooperation based on the capabilities of the two units, such as conducting research topics linked to the practical development of the district, especially youth entrepreneurship; promoting local agricultural products in the domestic and international markets; implementing digital transformation, etc.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan stated that the University of Economics, with its mission to serve the development of the community, always stands alongside Hoa Vang in leveraging the local strengths, participating in proposing solutions, and advising policies for the district's leadership. The university also aims to closely collaborate with Hoa Vang in community activities, developing local craft villages linked to tourism, organizing research projects, and various forums for sharing experiences and startup models for the district's youth. At the same time, they will enhance the digital transformation in various fields. With its affirmed training and research capacity, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan believes that the University of Economics will play an important role in the transformation of Hoa Vang district in the future.

Representatives from both organizations, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan and Mr. Phan Van Ton, have officially signed a cooperative agreement for the period from 2023 to 2025. According to the agreement, the University of Economics - University of Danang will support Hoa Vang district in implementing activities for its development in various areas, including training, capacity building, and enhancing professional expertise; digital transformation and the application of information technology in management and economic development; policy consultancy; and community service activities. In parallel, Hoa Vang district will also support the University of Economics in creating conditions for learning, conducting surveys, and exchanging experiences for the university's lecturers, trainees, and students. This includes accepting students for internships at district and other local agencies, consulting and providing feedback on the development of certain training programs at the university, inviting experts and officials to participate in scientific conferences and specialized discussions, as well as collaborating on research to build socioeconomic development models in rural areas and poverty reduction policies, etc.
