Strengthening cooperation relationship with Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT), Malaysia

The University of Economics, the University of Danang had a meeting with Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR) UMT), Malaysia on the afternoon of August 6 to promote international cooperation, strengthen connectivity, knowledge transfer as well as promote cooperation in scientific research.

 

Attending the meeting, on the side of TAR UMT University, Malaysia, there were: Assoc.Prof.Dr. Say Sok Kwan, Vice President - Administration and Internationalization; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Loke Chui Fung, Vice President - R&D and Commercialization; Dr. Lim Shen Huoy, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information Technology; Mr. Wee Chu Kok, Dean of Faculty of Accounting, Finance, and Business. On the side of the University of Economics, the University of Danang, there were: Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh - Vice-Rector of the university, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Dang Huu Man, Head of Science and International Cooperation Department, and representatives of the Faculty of Accounting, Faculty of Finance, and Faculty of Banking.

Speaking at the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh acknowledged and highly appreciated the cooperation between the two universities, and wished that the two sides would promote their potential and strengths to bring benefits in cooperation in training and scientific research.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Say Sok Kwan hopes the cooperation between the two universities will develop sustainably

Expressing his delight at the cooperation, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Say Sok Kwan, Vice President - Administration and Internationalization believes that the cooperation relationship between TAR UMT and the University of Economics will be sustainable and develop even more strongly in the coming time.

The two sides exchanged and discussed cooperation directions, exchanged lecturers, researched and academically, developed joint transfer programs. 2+2, 3+1 (for Accounting, Auditing, Finance, etc.), co-organized international conferences. At the same time, TAR UMT will create opportunities for students of the University of Economics to come to Malaysia for internships. The University of Economics wishes to cooperate with TAR UMT to train doctoral students within the framework of project 89 of the Vietnamese government. 

TAR UMT is one of the oldest higher education institutions in Malaysia with more than 270,000 students enrolled. The school has won numerous academic awards and recognitions:

- SETARA 5 Star Rating 2018/2019 awarded by the Ministry of Higher Education

- Sin Chew Education Award 2018/19 in which TAR UC was named is the recipient of the Outstanding Educational Institution Award: Private College/University Award, Product Award, and CSR Award.

- The 2016 Asia Pacific CSR Award, the University won the Excellence in Education Innovation award.

- The only institution in the world that is privileged to administer the Internally Assessed Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills level exam ACCA in which students of the Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) program are exempted from all 9 exams of this level after completing their sophomore year.
