DUE students enrich “golden table” scientific research with excellent achievement at euréka awards 2021

The closing ceremony of the award - Scientific Research Student Award - EURÉKA for the 23rd time in 2021 was solemnly held at 14:00 on December 18, 2021, in Ho Chi Minh City and connected online with universities across the country. At the University of Economics - the University of Danang, there is the participation of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh - Vice Rector of the University, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Dat - Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the University of Danang - Secretary of the Youth Union, Dr. Duong Thi Lien Ha – Deputy Head of Science & International Cooperation Department, Dr. Ngo Thi Khue Thu – Vice Dean of Marketing Faculty, MSc. Nguyen Ky Vien - Vice Dean of Faculty of Tourism and the instructors and students of the University who won prizes at this Euréka Prize.

At the award announcement session, the Organizing Committee honored 02 outstanding projects of the University of Economics - the University of Danang that won high achievements at Euréka 2021. Specifically, the second prize was awarded to the topic “Would nostalgia advertising have a dual impact on both brand equity and pro-social behavior in corporate social marketing? An experiment into customers’ intention to bring their own shopping bags (BYOB) in supermarkets” by students Tran Thi Kieu Trinh and Le Minh Toan, instructor: Dr. Tran Trieu Khai (Faculty of Marketing); The Consolation Prize was awarded to “Understanding factors affecting career resilience in the COVID-19: The case study of hospitality and tourism industry in Vietnam” by student Truong Minh Thi, instructor: Dr. Su Ngoc Diep (Faculty of Tourism). On behalf of the Organizing Committee, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Anh congratulated and awarded Certificates of Merit from the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union to the students and instructors who had won the award.

In 2021, the Euréka Prize attracted 132 universities, colleges, and academies from 32 provinces and cities nationwide with 1251 topics of 5900 students, with 2030 instructors attending. Especially this year, for the first time, the Prize has the participation of more than 400 scientists to judge the semi-finals, including more than 100 experts and lecturers from universities in localities outside Ho Chi Minh City. The award has a total of 12 fields, including Chemical and Pharmaceutical Technology; Biotechnology - Biomedical Technology; Information technology; Food Technology; Education; Economy; Technology; Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery; Juridical; Planning, Architecture, and Construction; Natural Resources and Environment, Society and Humanities. In which, the University of Economics - the University of Danang participated in 22 topics in the Final Round of the Award.

These outstanding achievements have contributed to enriching the scientific research gold table of the University's students in particular and the DUE research community in general. Along with prestigious awards for scientific research in 2021 such as First Prize of the Olympic Econometrics and Applications Contest, Second Prize of the Da Nang Science Research Student Contest, Second and Third Prizes of Science Research Student Award at the University of Danang, and the final round of the upcoming Ministerial Scientific Research Student Award, it can be said that the DUE youngsters have been reaping many proud achievements in the field of research, promote self-discipline, creativity, passion for scientific research, and contribute to making DUE to become a leading research and policy consulting center in the country and reaching out to the region.
